This is the cutest thing, Puglo made the press! 🥹

So happy to share that Puglo was featured in Take A Break magazine in the UK, sharing our story of how I adopted him in Mexico and how we’ve traveled the world together ever since.

It was never the plan to adopt Puglo. He came into my life exactly when I needed him, and we’ve been figuring it out together ever since. One of the best parts of this whole journey has been building his community and connecting with so many other dog-loving travelers along the way.

Traveling with a dog around the world, especially as a digital nomad, is not easy. It definitely puts life on a different pace. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. He brings so much joy into my life, and getting to share his story with more people means everything. ❤️ Big thanks to Lula White who made this happen!

We drove so many hours in Kyrgyzstan to get here, had to do a border check, but it was so worth it. This lake is incredibly beautiful. We did the boat ride through it and stopped here for a little break, just me and Puglo enjoying the world together 🥹

Is summer in Italy with a dog a good idea?

We had an amazing time here, Puglo made so many memories and Italy is truly one of the best dog friendly destinations we’ve visited. But I’ll be real with you, summer heat made it a struggle. Pouring ice cubes on him, hunting for shade, carrying him when the pavement got too hot, it turned simple things into logistics.

If you’re only here for a short trip and need to sightsee mid day, summer is going to create friction. Come during shoulder season instead and enjoy the magic of Italy 🇮🇹

Is Italy actually dog friendly? yes, more than almost anywhere else I’ve traveled!

I brought my pug Puglo through Rome, Florence, Siena, Bologna, Puglia, and the Dolomites this year, and it was so easy to have Puglo alongside me the whole time as dogs are allowed almost everywhere. Restaurants handed us water bowls without asking. Grocery stores didn’t blink. In Rome we got stopped by strangers at least 20 times in a single day, just people wanting to say hi to Puglo.

The Dolomites ended up being his favorite part, mountain trails, lakes, and air that makes you feel alive. Florence gave us the most magical stay at a pet friendly villa on a hill with a huge garden to run around. And yes, dogs ride the trains too.

If you’re on the fence about taking your dog to Italy, don’t be. Just budget extra time for all the people who are going to stop you to say hello.

Full breakdown of where to stay, how to get around, and the paperwork you need is linked in the comments 👇
