The company was then incorporated as Ban Chuan Trading Company Limited on 26th December 1962. Mr Yap began importing Guinness before GAB operates the Sungei Way Brewery which began operations in 1965 located in Selangor. Given the opportunity, he decided to apply for the distributorship from GAB KL to distribute in the northern area of Peninsular Malaysia. Later on 15th April 1966, the company cha
nged its name to Ban Chuan Trading Company Sendirian Berhad and it is a private company limited by shares. In 1985, the company moved into lot 629 containing an acre of land where currently is operating. An extension of bigger warehouse was built in year 2001 to accommodate a larger volume of distribution. On 8th June 2006, lot 630 containing 0.898 acres of land was purchased to accommodate an increased of vehicles from the company. Even with its tremendous success, Ban Chuan remains a family-owned and -operated business. Because the Yap family also believes in giving back to their community, they donate and offer scholarships to Jit Sin Independent School every year. Besides, Yap family also contributes in charity works at Tzu Chi Foundataion, an international humanitarian organization and a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO).
