Lately, we’ve been seeing quite a few turtles visiting the waters around Straits Quay. Most of the time, we let them be—enjoying their gentle presence from afar. But one morning, we noticed a larger turtle struggling, her fin visibly injured.

Our hearts went out to her, and we knew she needed help. We reached out to the local authorities, who responded with care and professionalism. After some time, they were able to gently bring her in so she could receive the treatment she needed.

It was a relief to see her calmer and more at ease, knowing she’s now in good hands. Moments like these remind us how precious and fragile marine life is—and how even a small act of care can make a big difference.

During the MYBOS 2025, Mr. Oh Kean Shen, Founder of Pen Marine, urged players in Malaysia’s pleasure boating and yachting sector to collaborate, for the greater good of the industry.

While organizations like AMIM have successfully united shipyards and MRO stakeholders, the yachting sector remains fragmented—lacking a unified voice to push for critical changes.

🚧 Challenges like marina development, strategic site planning, and infrastructure upgrades require private sector collaboration—alongside government support—to make Malaysia a preferred yachting destination for locals and visiting yachts alike.

This is a call to all in the industry:
📣 Let’s build together, advocate together, and shape the future of yachting in Malaysia—together.
