Why Save The Convention Centres?
๐ด In 2019, Business Events generated RM9.2 billion economic contribution to Malaysia.
๐ด At our peak, Business Events hires 33,000 permanent staff and engages almost 60,000 part-timers.
๐ด The majority of income is generated from events held in convention centres.
๐ด Since the start of MCO due to COVID-19, Business Events in Malaysia has not been allowed to take place except during the short RMCO period from July to 13 October 2020.
Our Campaign is to
๐ข To appeal to our government bodies such as MKN, Ministry of Internal Security, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Finance (M*F) to work with us on the SOP so that we can refine it and have an approved SOP for different levels of MCOs
๐ข To recognise that Business Events can accelerate the recovery of fellow SMEs
๐ข Once we can show that our domestic Business Events can take place safely and successfully, this will instil confidence in returning Business Events travellers when borders re-open in 2021.
