Today marks another significant milestone for Infinity, as YB Tuan Loke Siew F**k, Minister of Transport Malaysia, officiated the reactivation of Segamat Inland Port (SIP) and witnessed the lease agreement exchange ceremony, further strengthening Malaysiaโs multimodal logistics network.
The ceremony was also graced by YB Ir. Ts. Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, Chairman of the Johor State Committee on Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications, alongside senior representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Johor State Government, Lembaga Pelabuhan Klang, Rail Assets Corporation, KTMB, Johor Port authorities, as well as our valued strategic partners, customers, and industry stakeholders.
As part of the historic occasion, YB Loke officially flagged off the first freight train comprising 28 wagons from Segamat Inland Port (SIP) to Port Klang, symbolising the successful revival of rail freight services from Segamat after years of dormancy.
The event also celebrated the arrival of the second freight train from Southern Thailand, transporting raw materials for the furniture manufacturing industry in Muar. This demonstrates Segamat Inland Port's growing role as a regional logistics gateway, connecting cross-border cargo movements with Malaysia's manufacturing supply chain.
The reactivation of Segamat Inland Port represents more than the reopening of a rail terminal. It marks the beginning of a comprehensive logistics ecosystem designed to connect Northern Johor, Southern Pahang, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan with Malaysia's major seaports and international markets.
