记者5月23日从中国铁路总公司获悉，中国铁路总公司(简称“铁总”)总经理盛光祖今日将率领团队开始访问马来西亚。
据了解，盛光祖此行的主要目的是为了争取新加坡与马来西亚间的新隆高铁(又称“新马高铁”)工程。随盛光祖出访的队伍庞大，涵盖中国中车股份有限公司、中国交通建设股份有限公司、中国铁建股份有限公司(下简称“中国铁建”)、中国铁路通信信号股份有限公司、中国进出口银行、中国投资有限责任公司等至少六个单位的负责人。
而另据新加坡媒体报道，作为铁总一哥的盛光祖是应多个单位的邀请来马访问，中国一直以来对新隆高铁工程非常感兴趣且志在必得。盛光祖的行程由中国驻马大使馆商务处负责安排，而他此行也将会与马来西亚陆路交通委员会(SPAD)、交通部长廖中莱等人会面。
按照项目规划，新隆高铁设计长度约为356.1公里，其中马来西亚段的长度为326.1公里，新加坡段的长度为30公里，线路计划连线从吉隆坡“马来新城”到新加坡裕廊东之间包括芙蓉、马六甲、蔴坡、巴株巴辖和努沙再也在内的五个城市。最高时速达350公里，可将目前来往新加坡和吉隆坡约6小时的车程缩短至大约90分钟。
马来西亚官方今年年初曾表示，新加坡和马来西亚两国有望在2016年年中就新隆高铁项目签署备忘录，工程将通过公开方式招标，目前投标文件正在筹备中。此前，英国《金融时报》曾指出，新隆高铁今年公开招标在即，但中国显然已取得领先地位，初步超前日本机构组成的联合体。
中国铁建国际部相关人士在接受《中国经营报》记者采访时也曾表示：“就这个项目而言，我们有优势，但因为是招标，谁都无法说自己百分之百能中标。”
近一两年来，为了争取新隆高铁项目，中日两国官员对马来西亚的访问越来越频繁。今年3月，东日本地道公司的高层和日本驻吉隆坡使馆的官员与马来西亚交通部官员会面，表达日本对参与新隆高铁项目的热切期望。日本政府早在2015年8月就派出国土交通大臣太田昭宏赴马当“推销员”介绍日本的技术优势。去年年底，李克强总理与纳吉布举行会谈时也表示，中方愿参与新隆高铁建设。

We're excited to share the video highlights from the recent China High-Speed Railway Showcase!

Watch how visitors and honoured guests were enamoured with the overwhelming technology and expertise that China Railway possess to build high-speed railway. They also learned that the climate in China suits the Malaysian climate which plays a huge role in determining the type of material that needs to be used to build the High-Speed Rail from Kuala Lumpur down to Singapore.
