LIMITED FRESH HARVEST (FEB-MAR) from Highlands of Sarawak. We am bringing in new, off-market rice to Kuching for you to try. All of them are grown on the mountains deep in Borneo, it took me 24 hours of travel to bring them to Kuching. Super exclusive, super healthy, and super tasty.

We recommend enjoying these exclusive varieties during celebrations. We have vacuum packed the large portions for you. We're getting a separate page up to test things out too!

Beras Hitam : Very soft, slow release of energy, helps to control appetite, has 30% more thiamine which helps to metabolize glucose.

Beras Merah : Burst of energy (research shows high GI) , bran helps to reduce cardiovascular risk and hypertension.

Beras Roti : Similar to Pengiran, has a milky fragrance when you open it, short grain. Some customers like to use this for porridge.

Beras Pengiran : Similar to Roti, has a milky fragrance when opened, longer in grain.

Beras Adan : Same variety as Bario rice. Also from the highlands

Manah betemu nuan! Nama berita? 👋

My name is Aaron. I'm the accounts and outreach liaison at Portle and this is my Portle story.

I had just graduated with a degree in Psychological Science at the end of 2020 and was looking for something meaningful to do. That's when I met Jordan as he was looking to put together a team.

The mission to help connect those in ulu Sarawak is something close to my heart. While I grew up in Kuching, my family would always head back to Sebuyau for Gawai and other occasions. Back when there was no direct road to the village, we would have to drive to a riverside town and then take a boat. The whole trip would take about 5 hours one way.

Armed with determination to help, I joined the team that would become Portle. Things were tough at first but we stuck to it and now we're serving over 40 villages with our 6 collection points. With each delivery we make, I can't help but take pride in what we've started.

We still have a long way to go but with the spirit of 'Agi idup, Agi ngelaban' which means 'As long as I live, I will continue to fight', we will continue to weather every storm that comes our way to better the lives of our fellow Sarawakians. 💪❤️

As September comes to an end, we took some time to reflect on what went well during the past months and the milestones we've made along the way.

Partnering with Kuching Food Aid has been one of our proudest achievements thus far. The pandemic has impacted the livelihood of many rural communities, and we're happy to have been part of a driving force that helps others in times of need. We could not have done it without the support of our drivers, Collection Point agents, and all of you who contributed towards this amazing cause.

Days, weeks, and months just to get that one item - does it have to be that way for Malaysia in 2021?

Hello! 👋 I’m Shana, Portle’s marketing strategist who is currently assisting and the team. 🤓 Let’s get to know each other! 🥰

Sometime in mid-July 2021, I came across one of Portle’s advertisements regarding the expansion of their new routes by a friend, and was fascinated by how some entity was interested enough to develop a functional logistic service for rural areas.

Rural areas tend to be undeveloped for a myriad of reasons, and it’s rare that people would go through the trouble to change something that’s been the norm for years (even if it’s super troublesome). But as a village girl myself, I felt like someone was looking out to make life better for me, and that this was something truly special that deserved more attention in the public eye.

Filled with curiosity, I reached out to know more about Portle’s operations and discovered that Portle was made possible by the continuous efforts of... 4 people?!? 🤯

I jumped the gun and offered to help, and fast forward till today - I contributed towards some areas of expansion and assisted in the branding for Portle. The passion from all my new friends and their collective eagerness to strive for the better keeps me excited about every milestone that occurs with Portle - and pushes me to continuously improve my skills wherever possible.

Like everyone who’s been supporting us, I can’t wait to see how Portle can grow even further! ✨
