Pangkalan Fire Flies Tour Itinerary

Meet at Pangkalan Restaurant by 1700hrs (5pm), before proceed for the cruise we’ll having simple Tea Break at Pangkalan restaurant. After that, we will bring you to enjoy Local Village Games such as “Coconut Bowling” “Three Stick” “Throw & Catch”. The reason we introduce this games is to share the experience and making the memories between the village kids and the guest. After the activities done, we will continue 5 minute walk to jetty and on the way to jetty we will pass by all the village house on stilt. Feel free to take picture around the village and its ok to approach the local village by saying “Hai” only, it makes them happy showing your warmth friendly to them. At the jetty we will take the boat and cruise up streams until the mouth of river. Along the cruise we will see Virgin Mangrove Forest which is protected under Sabah Forestry since 2007. And if we’re lucky we might spot a group of Macaque or Probocis Monkey near river bank ready to settle down at the edge of trees. While search for wildlife we will make stop to demonstrated the guest how normally the fisherman working on the Crab Trap to catch the Giant Mangrove Crab at the salty brackish river. 40% of people who lives in the village actually working on catching the Crab also Prawn because in Sandakan Town, Seafood are high demand for people from Peninsular Malaysia, for them its really cheap to get from any Seafood Restaurant in Sandakan. Continue our boat cruise to Pamaguan Island, at the island it will be our pit stop while waiting for fire flies come out around 6.45pm or 7pm. A group people at island will serve you a fresh green coconut and its complimentary. If the weather permitted we might witnessing a beautiful sunset and surround with peaceful windy island. After island activities, back to boat and continue cruise back to Mangrove Forest to search Fire Flies which is our main highlight of the trip. Experience the amazing and magical trip fire flies on the tree like “Christmas tree”. Don’t forget to collect your crab trap on the way back to jetty. Back to restaurant for local dinner and we always make sure our food serve with fresh ingredients, and we do make special food for those who had dietary requirement. After dinner, your driver will drive you back to your respective hotels.
