Based at Sultan Ismail International Airport, more commonly known as Senai Airport, members of our club are folks from all walk of life, who are passionate about flying. Some of them own their own aircraft too! We also offer full Malaysian Private Pilot's License (PPL) training, in accordance with the guidelines of the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), and are active participants of ai

Breakfast is a great time to catch up with pilot friends. The morning is cool, the rest of the day stretches ahead and it’s hard to find an aviator who doesn’t like coffee. A few Johor Flying Club members gathered for some Java and snacks this morning and the talk flowed on for hours as they traded updates, stories and tips.

One demonstrated a machine which is likely to start showing up in many light aircraft soon: a portable rechargable coffee maker no bigger than a small flask which can brew multiple cups of hot coffee. So you don’t have to be in a big aircraft to turn around to your crewmate or passenger and ask: Can I have a fresh cup of coffee?

Johor Flying Club members had a pleasant and educational time at a dinner and presentation on the CAAM flight planning system as part of the club’s Continuing Education Programme. This took place at a member’s home on October 24, 2025.

Thanks goes to Dawson Lee Chiaw Hwee whose offer to do the briefing sparked last night’s event.

Ben Chong deserves special mention for stepping in to take over when unavoidable circumstances prevented Dawson from being able to do it. Kudos to Ben too for coming up with the idea of a new shirt for the club and executing it and distributing it during the night.

It was great to see Luke Chen, Jeremy Wong and Nikhil Kaul at their first members’ gathering.

Especially gratifying was seeing Luke and Trevor Wong attend with their wives, Jujun and Magdalene. It is a long-time tradition of the club to welcome partners at all events, whether for group flying trips or continuing education programmes or social events on terra firma. And, indeed, wives of several of the longer-term members were present too.

Still on the subject of partners, kudos to Ben’s capable wife Kristen for managing the collection of the shirts.

Hosts Paul and Marjorie thank all those who came for the dinner and briefing and helped with the clearing up too. Plans are already being made for the next event.
