A little adventure story from last Thursday.
Swakopmund surprised us again. We spent the afternoon with Namibia Helicopter Services , celebrating the launch of their routes along our beautiful coastline.
The day started with a warm welcome. Then came the heli flips… pure freedom. The ocean on one side, dunes on the other, and that feeling in your chest when the world suddenly opens up beneath you. It was equal parts breathtaking and grounding.
We ended the evening tucked away in the cosy Secret Garden. A little pocket of calm after the sky adventure. Thank you for the beautiful hospitality.
And a big thank you to Namibia Helicopter Services for inviting us into this moment. Swakopmund just got a new chapter of adventure.

What do you say when an experience leaves you completely enchanted?
You say, “Buckle up… it’s story time.”

A simple “It was incredible” did not even begin to describe it when we got back and were asked about our time at the newly revamped Chobe Safari Lodge by Kwando Safaris . So here is the full story…

We were invited to the pre-opening of CSL, and already had a feeling it would be something extraordinary. But what we experienced went far beyond expectations.

The newly built main area (almost complete) is absolutely stunning, but more than that, it is soulful. Every detail feels intentional. It is a space that doesn’t just impress, it moves you. It feels like African adventure wrapped in elegance.

The rooms have that same energy, blending safari with fun and flair. CSL has become a whole vibe. We just know our guests are going to fall in love, just like we did.

And the rest?

We stood at the quadripoint, where four countries meet. We chased sundowners, each one more beautiful than the last, especially at the Treetops Lookout. We got a glimpse of Botswana’s first elephant centre, built from pure passion for conservation and designed to educate and inspire.

We tried crocodile, and while the tiger fish proved elusive, one of us definitely mastered the art of catching trees and reeds. Nature 1, us 0.

And the bird life at the Chobe River? Surreal

This whole trip touched all the senses, and as SWA Safaris continues to lean into sensory travel, it was truly inspiring to see how aligned Kwando Safaris is with this path.
