A familiar sight on the journey north. 🌴

The Makalani palm, Hyphaene petersiana, is also known as a fan palm thanks to its distinctive fan-shaped leaves. But these trees are far more than a beautiful part of the northern Namibian landscape. Their leaves have long been used to weave baskets, while the hard nuts are carved into jewellery, key rings and ornaments.

From Opuwo to Okongo and beyond, the Makalani is part of the landscape, culture and everyday life of northern Namibia.

Back for round three! 🎾

Our third instalment of Padel for a Purpose is here. Each year, we take to the court for a different cause, and this year, we’re playing padel for conservation. 🦏🦒

FlyNamibia Safari and Padel Namibia invite you to grab a colleague, friend or business partner and enter a two-person team for a morning of friendly competition, networking and plenty of fun. No prior padel experience needed.

This year, funds raised will support three organisations doing important work to protect Namibia’s natural heritage: IRDNC, Save the Rhino Trust Namibia and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
