This mistake has cost many CEOs, and it is about to cost you, too, if you don't score your business against these secret pillars.
A CEO friend once boasted of his team, and they really were that good (high energy, hard-working, and zero drama).
Five months later, a department head quit. Suddenly, half the team didn’t know who was covering what.
His boasting wasn’t wrong; these people were truly good, but the system around them wasn’t.
Back to the reason for this post:
Every operational problem traces back to a gap in one of three areas (I call them the 'three pillars’). It is crucial to evaluate your business against them.
1. People
This pillar is as vital as the growth you want to see in your business.
The question to ask is “does every team member know exactly what they are responsible for without checking with someone else?”
2. Process
Founders burn out because they have to push every single task across the finish line themselves. Note this, when nothing works in your absence, what you own is an unpaid management job.
3. Performance
The truth is, many founders don't actually know what is working in their business, they just guess. When there are no metrics provided, there is no evidence of success.
Remember, in the marketplace, decision-makers value metrics far more than promises.
Now that you know the three pillars, it’s time to score your business against them. Remember: a single weak pillar is enough to break your business completely.
Don’t wait for that to happen, Brigos Ltd will be more than happy to help you audit your business. You are welcome 🤝😊
