⚓ RULE 3: RESPONSIBILITY FIRST, RIGHTS SECOND

At sea, the rules of navigation are clear, but the ocean is not always forgiving.

A seasoned cargo captain once had the right of way. Ahead, a smaller vessel drifted dangerously into his path. By the book, he could have sounded the horn and demanded compliance. But instead, he chose something greater, responsibility.
He slowed his massive vessel, altered course, and avoided a collision that could have cost lives.
⚠️ The lesson? At sea, it’s never about proving who is right. It’s about doing what’s safe.
Because waves don’t care about laws, and storms don’t pause for pride.

👉 Rule 3 reminds us: The safety of life and property always comes first. Every captain, every crew, every seafarer carries that duty.

✨ The true measure of seamanship isn’t stubbornness.... It’s wisdom, humility, and the courage to choose safety over ego.

Strait of Hormuz under threat: Iran’s parliament signals support amid vessel exodus

Following the outbreak of conflict between Israel and Iran, MarineTraffic vessel tracking data shows a sharp escalation in daily vessel movements from the Persian Gulf.

Between June 1 and 14, average daily departures were relatively stable, with around 9 bulk carriers, 13 crude oil tankers, and 13 container ships. But after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on June 13 targeting key Iranian military and nuclear facilities, vessel activity surged. Bulk carrier departures jumped to 34 per day (up from 9), crude oil tankers rose to 34 (up from 13), and container ship movements climbed to 28 daily (up from 13).

The spike reflects widespread concern that vessels could become trapped in the Gulf, risking tens or even hundreds of millions in commercial losses if access to the Strait of Hormuz is restricted.

Although ’s parliament has voted to support the closure of the strait, the final decision rests with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Still, the vote has intensified fears of a shutdown, and operators are now racing to reposition fleets ahead of any potential escalation.
