For over a decade, the NLNG Capacity Workshop has remained a strong platform for strengthening journalism in Nigeria, equipping media professionals with the tools, knowledge, and insights needed to navigate an increasingly digital and complex media landscape.
At the opening, Anne-Marie Palmer-Ikuku, Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at NLNG, welcomed participants to the programme, noting the sustained impact of the initiative since its launch.
“This is the 16th edition of this programme since its commencement in 2014, and over 400 journalists in Nigeria have benefited from this digital skill enhancement programme. This workshop is a demonstration of our respect for good journalism.”
Over the course of three days, participants explored emerging trends shaping modern journalism, including AI-driven reporting, multimedia storytelling, and so much more.
Closing the workshop, Dr. Sophia Horsfall, General Manager, External Relations at NLNG, charged participants to apply the knowledge gained and continue raising the standard of journalism.
Reaffirming NLNG’s partnership with the media, she ended with a powerful call to action:
“The bar isn’t just raised, it’s skyrocketed. Now go unleash it: Change your story, change the world.”
