Strengthening Partnerships Through Stakeholder Engagement

Meaningful stakeholder engagement remains central to how we operate, grow, and create shared value. We were pleased to welcome a high-level delegation from the Republic of Congo on a familiarization visit to our terminal, reinforcing the importance of regional collaboration and knowledge sharing across Africa's maritime and energy sectors.

The delegation, led by Franc Mouzabakani Kiesse, Director General of Upstream Petroleum and representative of Congo's Hon. Minister of Hydrocarbons, Stev Simplice Onanga, included officials from OGFZA and Nigeria's Local Content Directorate. Representing Oil & Gas Free Zones Authority - OGFZA Managing Director/CEO Alhaji Bamanga Jada was Constance Ekeh, Head of Operations. The delegation was received by Innocent Ogbuji, Government and Public Relations Manager, who led discussions and a tour of the terminal's operations.

During the visit, the delegation gained insights into how we create value for customers through efficient service delivery, uphold a strong culture of safety, contribute to economic growth, and support host communities through our CSR initiatives.
They expressed appreciation for the significant investments made in modern equipment, digitalization, and safety systems, recognizing their role in driving operational excellence and sustainable growth.

Visits such as these underscore the value of collaboration, transparency, and knowledge exchange in strengthening Africa's logistics and energy ecosystems.

Navigating Career Pathways | Strengthening Capability | Enabling Growth

At WACT-APM Terminals Nigeria, we believe that career development is a journey fueled by learning, exposure, and meaningful conversations.

With this in mind, we recently hosted the WACT Career Fair 2026, a two-day initiative designed to help employees explore the diverse career opportunities available across our business and gain greater visibility into potential career paths.

The Career Fair brought together departments from across the organization, providing employees with a unique platform to engage directly with colleagues, learn about different functions, explore career pathways, and gain insights into the skills and experiences required to succeed in various roles.
Through panel sessions, interactive departmental booths, career conversations, and engagements with leaders, employees expanded their understanding of the business, explored diverse career pathways, and gained valuable insights to support their professional growth and career aspirations.

The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, many of whom valued the opportunity to learn about different career paths, connect with colleagues across functions and regions, and gain deeper insight into opportunities for growth within WACT and the broader APM Terminals network. The enthusiasm, engagement, and quality of conversations throughout the two days underscored the importance employees place on career development, continuous learning, and exploring new possibilities for growth.

At WACT, we recognize that our people are our greatest asset. The Career Fair reinforced our commitment to creating an environment where employees can grow, develop new capabilities, and unlock their full potential. By investing in their development and supporting career growth, we are building a more skilled, engaged, and future-ready workforce while empowering our employees to build rewarding and meaningful careers.

A special thank you to all participating departments, leaders, and employees whose contributions made the WACT Career Fair 2026 a truly impactful and inspiring experience.

Investing in Education, Empowering Future Leaders

At WACT-APM Terminals Nigeria, we are committed to creating opportunities that help young people thrive and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Last week, we welcomed 52 new beneficiaries into the WACT Scholarship Scheme—comprising 47 students from our host communities and 5 children of employees, bringing the total number of beneficiaries under the programme to 193.

The scholarship scheme remains a cornerstone of our commitment to youth development, supporting talented students to access higher education and achieve their aspirations. Over the years, the programme has produced several first-class graduates, demonstrating the transformative impact of investing in education.

Beyond scholarships, WACT continues to support talent development through initiatives such as the WACT Internship Programme and WACT EngineerHer Programme, helping young people gain practical experience and prepare for successful careers.

The event was also a celebration of the strong partnership between WACT and its host communities, whose collaboration continues to support shared growth and development.

Congratulations to all our new scholars. We look forward to seeing you excel and become future leaders who will make a positive impact in your communities and beyond.

Connecting people. Sharing perspectives. Building the future together.

Employees had the opportunity to engage directly with the Managing Director, Courage Obadagbonyi, during a Meet and Greet session focused on open dialogue, collaboration and shared priorities for the future. The presence of the APM Terminals Nigeria CEO, Frederik Klinke further underscored the importance of staying connected and aligned across our organisation.

The session provided an opportunity for employees to hear first-hand from the MD, exchange perspectives and strengthen the partnerships that will help drive our continued growth and success.

Creating space for care at work

Balancing work and family life can be one of the biggest challenges for working parents. In busy operational environments, support systems make all the difference.

A new kiddies crib has been introduced at the WACT-APM Terminals Nigeria to support nursing mothers and fathers. It offers a safe and comfortable space where parents can attend to work while being close to their children.

This initiative is about more than convenience. It reflects a broader commitment to employee wellbeing and inclusion. By recognising the needs of working parents, barriers are reduced and participation becomes easier for everyone.

A supportive workplace enables people to perform at their best. When employees feel seen and supported, engagement grows, retention improves, and teams become stronger.

Small changes can create meaningful impact. Providing a dedicated space for young families shows what an inclusive environment can look like in practice, one where care and work can coexist.

Real progress in maritime industry starts when more women have the opportunity to step in and succeed.

The first cohort of the WACT EngineerHer programme concluded in June, marking a key step in expanding opportunities for women in Nigeria.
This video reflects the purpose behind the programme and the journey so far. Participants share how the experience has built confidence, strengthened skills and shaped their ambitions.
Their stories show what is possible when the right opportunities are in place.

As one cohort closes, another begins today, continuing the effort to increase female representation in WACT and empowering Nigerian women with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen field.
