⛵ Strontrace Workum 2026!

This Sunday, our crew was back at the Strontrace in Workum, proudly representing Tres Hombres and Fairtransport!

It was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new ones, and share the story behind Tres Hombres and our mission to sail cargo across the oceans using only the power of the wind. 💨⛵

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, and showed their enthusiasm for sustainable shipping!

🔨 First 2 planks are out!

No time to waste! As soon as Tres Hombres was out of the water, the first planks were already coming out 😎

After the main mast has been taken down from our beautiful Tres Hombres at the end of September, our refit team has inspected the entire rig.

What has been checked?

- The standing rigging: if wires and service are still intact
- The running rigging: which lines need replacing or end for ending
- The masts and spars: checking for cracks in the wood and rusty spots.

As you can see, our team is busy these days 😎

And Monday Tres Hombres is moving out of the water… Stay tuned for more updates!

Schokofahrt 2026! 🚲🍫

Today we are spending the day at the Chocolatemakers Factory in Amsterdam, welcoming cyclists who are carrying delicious, sail-shipped chocolate all the way to different destinations accross Germany.

From the Caribbean sailed to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam cycled to Germany! How sustainable can transporting chocolate get? 😋

We’re pretty sure this is one of the sweetest ways to move cargo! 🍫💚

A quick stop in Den Helder for Lun II

Before going on with her voyage to Portugal, the Lun II made a quick stop in the harbour of Den Helder. A great opportunity to make some quick fixes on the ship, discuss some business at the office and greet the Tres Hombres crew who came back from their summer trips! 😎

One thing is for sure, it has been a busy week at Willemsoord! ⛵

Tres Hombres is back in Den Helder! ⛵

After almost 5 months sailing around Europe, our beloved ship is finally home again. 🌊⚓

And this time, she returned with a new Captain at the helm! 😎 After sailing as Mate for several years, Captain Nick officially took over for the final leg from Copenhagen to Den Helder, and what a way to start his new role. Well done, Captain!

But Nick isn’t the only one moving up through the ranks. Over the past year, we’ve seen some great changes within the crew: trainees stepping up as deckhands, bosuns becoming mates, and even some crewmembers trying out the cook position for the first time!

Who knows… there might be another crew member ready for a new role soon! 👀 In his latest blog, Bram looks back at the different positions he’s held on board over the years and reveals which role he wants to try next!
