We've had a resident barn owl in our warehouse for years. It rarely shows itself outside, but on an afternoon we spotted it sitting on a pipe by our neighbors' warehouse. 🦉

Last week, we had a visit from Mr Ayman from The Hague. He came to the Netherlands 11 years ago after fleeing the Assad regime. He has now decided to return voluntarily to Syria, as the Dutch government considers it ''safe enough'' to do so.

Together with a number of Syrians living in the Netherlands, he raised money to purchase hospital beds, mattresses and bedside lockers from us. We wanted to support his initiative, so we donated IV poles and ICU instrument tables and also gave him a substantial discount on his purchase. This afternoon, we loaded the container.

His story deeply touched us. He told us about the day he arrived in the Netherlands: “I was happy that it was raining, because that way no one could see my tears. I was so happy to finally be safe.”

Here are a few photos showing what the hospital in Idlib, Syria, looked like before the war, what it looks like today, and the loading of Mr Ayman’s container.

Mr Ayman was fortunate to survive. Sadly, many people who lived under the Assad regime did not. We wish him a safe journey and hope that these beds and medical supplies can make a meaningful contribution to rebuilding healthcare in his community.

Last month, we loaded 350 medical mattresses for Omroep MAX, destined for Moldova. It was quite a job getting everything loaded, but in the end, it all fit perfectly!

Jan Posseth 1941 - 2026

Tetris with boxes😉. Earlier this month, we loaded a truck with homecare beds and many other (medical) aid supplies for Moldova on behalf of the MAX Maakt Mogelijk Foundation. A great project supporting people in need and improving healthcare facilities where it matters most.
