Jungle Support Craft (JSC)
Recently, the Air Assault Brigade has acquired ten Jungle Support Crafts (JSC). These boats are used during jungle training exercises.
Rivers in the jungle are often filled with floating wood and tree trunks, with rocky banks and shallow riverbeds. This places high demands on equipment. The JSC is therefore constructed from HDPE sheets (High-Density Polyethylene), strong plastic panels that can withstand heavy impact.
As a result, the boats can reach higher speeds without sustaining permanent damage. They are durable and resistant to harsh conditions, ranging from Arctic regions to shallow jungle coastlines.
The Air Assault Brigade and the Marine Corps are designated for operations in jungle and other extreme environments. With the introduction of these boats, mobility in such deployment areas is further enhanced. Units can move more quickly and effectively through difficult terrain.
