Last week, David Smorenburg represented Jan de Rijk Logistics at Air Cargo Handling & Logistics (ACHL), connecting with people from across the international air cargo community.

Alongside many valuable conversations, David chaired and moderated the dedicated Road Feeder Services track, bringing different perspectives together around the challenges and opportunities facing our industry.

A particularly important moment was the launch of the International Road Feeder Association (IRFA), a new global interest group focused on the challenges and future of road feeder services.

Three days of conversations, new ideas and stronger connections. Because moving air cargo forward starts with bringing the right people together.

HOW DO YOU TURN SUSTAINABILITY AMBITIONS INTO EVERYDAY LOGISTICS?

By making them part of every kilometre.

From 1 September, all kilometres operated by Jan de Rijk Logistics for Inditex will run on HVO100.

It is a practical step towards reducing the CO2 impact of their European transport flows, backed by transparent reporting and independently validated allocation of the HVO used.

Because sustainable logistics is not only about setting ambitions. It is about making choices that work in daily operations and making the results measurable.

Together with Inditex, we are putting that into practice.

28 April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. For us, it is every day. 850 trucks. Dozens of sites. Hundreds of people on the road, on the dock and in the warehouse. No exceptions. No shortcuts. Everyone home safe.

Twelve rules. Not on paper. In practice. Because safety is not a policy, it is how we work. To our drivers, planners, dock workers and warehouse teams: you make this happen. Every day. That deserves to be said out loud.
