CARU Containers® operates as European market leader in sales, rental, and leasing of new and used shipping containers.

CARU Containers® was established in the year 2000, when three separate companies in the Rotterdam area decided to join forces: CATU Rotterdam (founded in 1992), Trade Craft (1984), and Lease Craft (1991). These companies were all specialists in the sales and leasing of shipping and storage containers. Under their new name CARU these enterprises, also as a result of mergers and opening own offices

in Belgium, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, the United States and Singapore, have developed into a multinational operating in the trading and leasing of shipping containers. Throughout the years CARU has evolved into one of the largest traders of new and used shipping containers in the world. Also, due to the increase of our leasing fleet CARU Containers belongs to world’s 15 largest container leasing companies. For already a number of years, CARU has a separate department which is specialized in DNV certified offshore containers.

Branded containers for Royal IHC! 🚢

We supplied brand-new branded containers for our customer Royal IHC. We proudly personalized these containers with high-quality stickers in their own corporate branding. 🤍❤️

Royal IHC uses containers for two important functions: transport and storage. Thanks to the custom branding, they are real eye-catchers on the road and at worksites. We already delivered the first 20ft containers, and more 20ft and 40ft containers will follow soon. We love helping our partners with these global journeys!

Welcome to the team, Job! 🤝

Our CARU family is growing. We are very happy to introduce Job van Veen, who recently started as our new Sales Executive. Job was drawn to the commercial side of our business and our strong roots as a Rotterdam family business.

Job is a real team player. His strengths are open communication and working together with others. In his new role, Job wants to focus on building strong connections. He wants to work closely with his colleagues and combine their strengths to help CARU grow.

When he is not at work, Job loves to spend his free time outside. He enjoys going out for dinner with his girlfriend and friends. He is also a big football fan who loves to visit both professional and amateur football matches.

Proud of our colleague Remco! 🎓

Our colleague Remco finished his AI for business course at Nyenrode Business University. At CARU, learning and development are central. Remco spent seven weeks studying how we can use AI as a helpful tool in our daily work.

His main takeaway: tools can help us for 80%, but our people remain the most important part. Next to that insight, Remco learned how AI can automate tasks, like processing document data or checking container damage from photos. This smart automation helps us save time so it allows our teams to spend more time outside helping partners. 💪

Fun times at Feyenoord Festival! ⚽

We look back at a great day! Last Saturday, CARU was present at the Feyenoord Festival 2026. We welcomed many fans around our CARU container. Supporters could kick a football in our container as hard as they could. A speed meter tracked their shots and the best participants won prizes! 🥅

Why did we do this? By playing this game, we wanted to show everyone the endless possibilities of a container. And together with that, we wanted to bring people together and enjoy their time at the Feyenoord Festival.

Thank you to everyone who visited our container and joined the game! It was a huge succes! Did you visit us on Saturday? ❤️
