CARU Containers® operates as European market leader in sales, rental, and leasing of new and used shipping containers.

CARU Containers® was established in the year 2000, when three separate companies in the Rotterdam area decided to join forces: CATU Rotterdam (founded in 1992), Trade Craft (1984), and Lease Craft (1991). These companies were all specialists in the sales and leasing of shipping and storage containers. Under their new name CARU these enterprises, also as a result of mergers and opening own offices in Belgium, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, the United States and Singapore, have developed into a multinational operating in the trading and leasing of shipping containers. Throughout the years CARU has evolved into one of the largest traders of new and used shipping containers in the world. Also, due to the increase of our leasing fleet CARU Containers belongs to world’s 15 largest container leasing companies. For already a number of years, CARU has a separate department which is specialized in DNV certified offshore containers.

A fragrance experience in a shipping container. 💜

Two weeks ago, Sabrina Carpenter Fragrances took over TINA festival. Visitors could discover different fragrances and, of course, purchase their favourite right away.

We supplied the shipping container for this unique event space for Care Cosmetics. A shipping container doesn’t always have to travel across the world. Sometimes, it simply ends up at a festival.😉

Great to see just how versatile a container can be.

3. Spotted at the TINA festival: our CARU container as a stand for Care cosmetics.💄

4. Shirlei and Alex from CARU Latin America visited Guyana to get a look at the local used-container market. 🇬🇾

5. KUIP RUN: Adrie and Tim running 5K around De Kuip supporting the Feyenoord Foundation! ⚽

6. Colleague Bhavna visited her hometown in India and brought back a sweet treat for our collegues! 🍬

Summer highlight made of steel. 🌍🪩

As summer comes to an end, we look back at a great season. One of our highlights was providing containers for the Lago Lago festival. 🔆

For building their mainstage, they used 112 of our containers. The modular setup shows what containers do best: efficiency and endless flexibility. They are quick to place, safe to stack, and weather-resistant. Once the music stops, the containers simply move on to their next destination. 📦

Sound barrier made of our shipping containers. 🔉📦

When diesel trains caused noise at the Lokeren train station in Belgium, a practical solution was needed. Together with Stadsbader, we helped build a massive noise barrier of containers for NMBS.🚆

To reduce the noise for local residents, 38 empty CARU containers were placed on-site. The temporary wall spans nearly 250 meters in length and stands 5.2 meters high, stacked two containers tall. This setup effectively blocks the sound.

This project shows how all round shipping containers can be. This time the perfect solution for temporary infrastructure and noise control.🎧

Proud to introduce Chiel Rietvelt! 🤝

As is tradition at CARU Containers, we are very happy to introduce our new collegue Chiel Rietvelt. He recently started as our new Chief Financial Officer.

Chiel brings over 25 years of experience in finance and leadership, with strong roots in the Port of Rotterdam and international business. He was drawn to CARU Containers by our entrepreneurial spirit, global dynamics, and hands-on Rotterdam mentality.

Colleagues describe Chiel as approachable, analytical, and pragmatic. In his new role, Chiel focuses on building strong team connections, clear communication, and contributing to the next phase of our growth.♥️

Fun fact: when he is not at work, Chiel is a passionate beekeeper. He also enjoys boxing and motorcycling. 🐝🏍️
