Great to see how Oudkerk’s offshore work comes together in different ports and with various suppliers.

First, Oudkerk got things moving in Rotterdam, making sure Ranbarge 1 of Ran Offshore AS was ready on time to load this huge jacket for the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm (OWF), the offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea. Great cooperation with Smulders HSM (where the jacket was loaded), Mammoet (who provided the SPMTs needed to make the operation possible), and MULLER Dordrecht (who towed the Ranbarge 1 to its destination).

Next, the transformer platform also had to be loaded at Smulders HSM in Vlissingen, onto Boa Offshore’s Boabarge 29, using SPMTs from Sarens. With the ocean-going tug Eraclea leading the way, the combination set course north, assisted by two tugs from Boluda Towage for the first part of the journey.

The GPO Sapphire’s journey comes full circle…

The demobilisation of GPO Heavylift’s 225-metre semi-submersible heavy lift vessel in the port of Vlissingen marked the final step in a great project.

The project, carried out by Heerema Marine Contractors, also started in North Sea Port, where the deck was prepared to load the monopiles at Sif Group in the Port of Rotterdam. Two Dutch ports, but just one ship agent to take care of all the arrangements: Oudkerk.

After several trips to the Baltic, the monopiles were all loaded and the GPO Sapphire returned to HSD B.V. / MSO Group in Vlissingen to clear the deck once again.

Bij Oudkerk weten we het zeker: wij hebben de leukste baan in de haven!

Geen dag is hetzelfde. We regelen alles voor de schepen die de Nederlandse havens aandoen. Is dat soms chaotisch? Jazeker! Maar dat maakt het juist zo uitdagend. Als scheepsagent zorg je ervoor dat alles altijd weer goed geregeld is.

Onze collega Björn van der Meulen weet er alles van. Hij kwam binnen als stagiair en bleef (gelukkig!) bij ons plakken. Zijn verhaal is nu te lezen en te bekijken op: cargadoorworden.nl.

An impressive sight: the heavy lift vessel GPO Sapphire from GPO Heavylift, carrying the jack-up barge HEA Hercules from HEA Energy on deck. Measuring around 127 metres in length and over 40 metres wide, it was quite a load.

From arrival in the Port of Rotterdam, Oudkerk coordinated the entire operation. The combination was moored on the dolphins, after which the HEA Hercules was discharged by submerging the GPO Sapphire. Once ‘separated’, the HEA Hercules continued her journey under the guidance of two tug boats from Fairplay Towage.
