Even when it comes to exceptional cargo, Oudkerk is the logistics partner. No matter the size or weight, we manage the transport from start to finish — door to door.

For this operation, Oudkerk Logistics and Oudkerk Agencies worked together seamlessly.

Oudkerk Logistics in Vlissingen arranged the transport of the two large platforms from Vlissingen to the Van der Vlist Transportgroep terminal in the Port of Moerdijk. There, the coaster chartered by Oudkerk Logistics Rotterdam, was already waiting to be loaded.

Oudkerk Logistics also ensured that the platforms and the four grommets, which were already in Moerdijk, were loaded on board the MV Rimini of ERA Chartering, with Bode Freight Protection taking care of the lashing of the cargo.

This vessel — selected by our technical team — proved to be the perfect fit for cargo of this scale, carrying platforms measuring approximately 10 x 5 metres and weighing 8,500 and 9,600 kilograms, alongside the four grommets of 71 tonnes each.

After completion of the loading operation, the coaster set course for Stord and Haugesund in Norway, where the cargo was handed over to Heerema Marine Contractors.

Op onze Kapteinskamer is het altijd al doorpakken, maar in de zomermaanden zeker. De scheepvaart gaat altijd door! Bij Oudkerk zijn we op zoek naar jonge mensen die van afwisseling houden en willen werken met en voor de meest indrukwekkende schepen ter wereld.

En zeg nou zelf: jij werkt toch ook het liefste in de Rotterdamse haven?!!

Bij Oudkerk weten we het zeker: wij hebben de leukste baan in de haven!

Geen dag is hetzelfde. We regelen alles voor de schepen die de Nederlandse havens aandoen. Is dat soms chaotisch? Jazeker! Maar dat maakt het juist zo uitdagend. Als scheepsagent zorg je ervoor dat alles altijd weer goed geregeld is.

Onze collega Björn van der Meulen weet er alles van. Hij kwam binnen als stagiair en bleef (gelukkig!) bij ons plakken. Zijn verhaal is nu te lezen en te bekijken op: cargadoorworden.nl.

Wil jij ook aan de slag als scheepsagent? Bij ons ben je altijd welkom om te komen praten. De koffie staat klaar en het uitzicht op de Erasmusbrug is nooit hetzelfde.

An impressive sight: the heavy lift vessel GPO Sapphire from GPO Heavylift, carrying the jack-up barge HEA Hercules from HEA Energy on deck. Measuring around 127 metres in length and over 40 metres wide, it was quite a load.

From arrival in the Port of Rotterdam, Oudkerk coordinated the entire operation. The combination was moored on the dolphins, after which the HEA Hercules was discharged by submerging the GPO Sapphire. Once ‘separated’, the HEA Hercules continued her journey under the guidance of two tug boats from Fairplay Towage.

From Singapore to Vlissingen — it sounds simple. And with strong international cooperation, it is.

In close collaboration with our local partner A.P.S. Forwarding Services Pte Ltd, we ensured that four hammers — two weighing 150 tonnes and two weighing 360 tonnes — reached their destination safely and efficiently. From loading in Singapore on board the MV Fairpartner of Jumbo SAL alliance to a smooth arrival and discharge in the Port of Vlissingen — a true team effort from start to finish.

As ship agents, Oudkerk ensures the safe and efficient arrival and departure of vessels across the ports of Eemshaven, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and North Sea Port.

But IJmuiden is just around the corner for us as well. With the Port of Rotterdam stretching over more than fifty kilometres, we are used to applying our knowledge and expertise remotely.

This is exactly what we do in IJmuiden, delivering services with the same high level of services and dedication — which makes it even more enjoyable to receive a great photo like this from the harbour master of Zeehaven IJmuiden NV / Port of IJmuiden.

The entire basin is filled with vessels under Oudkerk’s agency: the commissioning service operation vessel Vestri Enabler of Edda Wind, and the hopper dredgers Vitus Bering and Pedro Alvares Cabral of Jan De Nul Group (Official).

Oudkerk delivers the full package…

We coordinated the transport of no fewer than seven grommets, each weighing around 30–40 tonnes — bringing them together from various locations across the Port of Moerdijk and Port of Rotterdam. This required careful planning of both overland transport and inland shipping.

Once consolidated, the cargo was shipped as a single breakbulk package on board a CMA CGM GROUP (Official) container vessel — ready to set sail for its final destination: Port of Spain.

After a long journey from the Bahamas, the Port of Vlissingen welcomed Boskalis’ semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 3. On board: a floating dry dock destined for shipyard Scheepswerf Reimerswaal. Measuring 168 by 38 metres, this dry dock is even larger than the shipyard’s current floating dry dock.

Oudkerk was entrusted with arranging all permits for the float-off operation in the Kaloothaven and coordinating the nautical service providers to ensure the floating dry dock reached its final destination safely.

It’s a wrap — not only for 2025, but also for our annual Oudkerk “oliebollen express.”

On 31 December, our colleagues Jan Willem Venhuizen, Björn van der Meulen and Thom van Waardenburg — together with his father — spent the day visiting clients’ vessels, delivering a well-deserved treat along the way.

That meant travelling across the Port of Rotterdam, Port of Amsterdam and North Sea Port by road and water and visiting no fewer than 20 vessels, including Heerema Marine Contractors, Allseas, Van Oord, Boskalis, Seaway7, DEME Group, MULLER Dordrecht, Jan De Nul Group (Official) Friends, Roll Group and HEBO Maritiemservice BV.

Full speed ahead to 2026 — let’s make it a great one together!
