Meet Kevin, our Online Marketeer! 🚀

What enticed Kevin to join UTURN was undeniably the cutting-edge platform, the data-driven approach, the energetic and ambitious team, and the amount of freedom he is given within his role.

After completing his master's, Kevin worked in the marketing department of the boiling water taps manufacturer. Seeking a smaller to medium-sized company with greater responsibilities, he stumbled upon UTURN through Indeed. Following an initial interview, Kevin was packed with enthusiasm. His responsibilities at UTURN include all tasks related to establishing and maintaining UTURN as a recognized name in the container logistics market.

In his spare time, Kevin likes to enjoy good food, whether dining out or cooking it himself. He also enjoys a drink and a party now and then. Moreover, he is actively playing football three times a week. As a child, Kevin's dream was to become a professional footballer. ⚽

Important news for truck operators in Germany! 🚛

There will be significant changes to Germany's truck toll system, aimed at encouraging environmentally friendly transportation practices. Here are the crucial updates you should be aware of:

⏹️ December 1, 2023: Truck toll rates will now be influenced by a vehicle's CO₂ emission class, in addition to other factors. This means that the toll you pay will be impacted by the environmental footprint of your vehicle.

⏹️ January 1, 2024: Vehicles using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) will no longer be exempt from toll payments.

⏹️ July 1, 2024: The truck toll will now apply to most courier vehicles over 3.5 tons, expanding the range of vehicles required to pay the toll.

⏹️ For older vehicles: Trucks registered before July 2019 may face an 83.2% toll increase, encouraging the adoption of more fuel-efficient options.

At UTURN, Caspar is driving growth through geographical expansion and crafting innovative services to enhance our ability to meet customers' requirements. Before UTURN, Caspar was a Business Development Manager in the temperature controlled logistics market and even ran his own customs services company for a year and a half.

Meet Korhan Kayan, our new Operations Executive! 🧑‍💻

Before UTURN, Korhan worked as a transport planner and all-round freight forwarder in the import/export and pricing departments. It was UTURN's innovative concept that attracted him and he immediately felt at home in this young and dynamic company.

At UTURN, Korhan strives to solve carriers' and shippers' problems as quickly and effectively as possible. He also works on improving our platform by implementing ideas and suggestions coming from carriers and shippers.

In his free time, he enjoys playing indoor football and visiting the cinema. ⚽

Onze stagiaires Martijn, Vivian, Ricky en Tim zijn ontzettend belangrijk binnen ons bedrijf.

Before UTURN, Julia worked for a transport company. Here, she discovered her love for transport and logistics, but Julia wanted to see the other side of this industry and was looking for something “younger” and “refreshing”, so it was a no-brainer to come work for UTURN. Since the beginning of April, she has been working at UTURN as our customer success manager.

Julia once lived in Rome, hence why she adores Italian food. If there is one restaurant she would recommend, it would be Ristorante Maccheroni in Rome. And if you happen to meet her in a karaoke bar, she would jam out to a song by the Italian singer Eros Ramazotti.
Currently, Julia lives near the beach with her husband, daughter and son.
