𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗼 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟-𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀

Jumbo is proud to announce the signing of a contract with Dajin Heavy Industry for the construction of two new L-Class heavy lift transportation vessels.

Developed in-house by Jumbo, the energy efficiënt and methanol ready 25,000 DWT L-Class vessels are designed to support a broad range of heavy lift transport operations across offshore wind, oil & gas, mining and other specialised marine sectors. Each vessel will be equipped with two Huisman 1,200-tonne Heavy Lift Cranes, providing a combined lifting capacity of 2,400 tonnes.

The vessels will join the JSI Alliance fleet, further strengthening the alliance’s global capabilities in the project cargo and energy markets.

It takes a strong team to build a berth together.

JSI Alliance is proud to have successfully completed a major project in India for our client Afcons Infrastructure Limited.
Afcons was contracted to construct a new liquid cargo berth for Gujarat Chemical Port Ltd. (GCPL), and we were entrusted with executing critical heavy lifting operations for this development.

Our scope included:
• Transportation of 18 components from Dighi Port to Dahej
• Installation at the new berth over six voyages
• Lift weights ranging from 50 to 600 tonnes

The project was executed using HLV Jumbo Javelin, equipped with the Fly Jib. Challenging conditions, including strong currents, meant dynamic positioning was not feasible. Instead, a temporary 8-point mooring system was installed on board, deployed and connected to pre-laid anchors.
Working in close coordination with two assisting vessels, the first installation was completed in December 2025, with full project delivery achieved in March 2026.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?
GCPL, located along the Gulf of Khambhat, plays a vital role in handling bulk liquids such as petroleum products, chemicals, and petrochemicals. With this expansion, it is set to increase its handling capacity to 12 million metric tonnes per year.

A new Atlantic connection – built around reliability, flexibility and experience.

SAL is expanding its service portfolio with the launch of the new SAL Atlantic Service – a semi-liner service connecting Europe, the Americas and Africa through regular, dependable sailings.

Marketed through the global JSI Alliance sales network, the service combines operational expertise with worldwide commercial reach and local customer support.

Operated with five modern and highly efficient shallow-draft multipurpose vessels with crane capacities of up to 500 tonnes, the SAL Atlantic Service combines the flexibility of project shipping with the reliability of scheduled operations. With at least two sailings per month planned, customers benefit from greater planning security, flexible cargo intake and efficient connections across the Atlantic. Designed for breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo flows, the service provides tailored transport solutions across key international trade lanes.

Based on the initial idea of shipping legend Svend Andersen (✝ 71), this new Atlantic connection will also be named the “Svend Andersen Service” to honour his memory and the ideas and vision that helped inspire the concept behind the service – a tribute to his long-standing impact on the industry.

The service has already commenced with MV Svend and MV Industrial Song.

Over past months, we were pleased to participate in the DOT Company Day, where we had the opportunity to connect with students from the TU Delft Master Offshore & Dredging program.

Our team enjoyed engaging in meaningful conversations about the offshore and dredging industry, sharing insights into Jumbo’s work, and discussing potential future career opportunities with the students.

In addition to networking, we also hosted a case study session that encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. It was inspiring to see the students’ enthusiasm, curiosity, and innovative approaches throughout the discussions.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making the event such a success — we look forward to staying connected with the next generation of offshore professionals!

The big hopper!

Jumbo's HLV Fairlane is pictured here loading a 249-tonne Eco Hopper in Brindisi, Italy, bound for Germany. The unit measures 24 × 17.4 × 24.8 metres and was shipped fully assembled.

These movable Eco Hoppers are specialised mobile port equipment used for the dust-controlled unloading of dry bulk materials from ships.

Fairlane and crew transited the Kiel Canal and safely offloaded the hopper in Rostock.

Another cargo delivered safely in good hands.

Alongside Intermodal South America 2026 in São Paulo, we had the pleasure of bringing together clients and partners for an evening of exchange.
