Looking back at last month’s event in Borgo Villafredda di Tarcento, Italy, where we curated works from .hunn and .greulich within the context of the Festa di Piante, di Storie, di Mostre.
Very much looking forward to do this again next year, and the following one, and so forth.
Thank you very much to everyone who stopped by, asking many questions. Thank you also to the oldest villagers who didn’t really have many questions but just witnessed silently this exhibition of stories.
Lastly, thank you to the Sello family!

From 1816 to 1919 this territory was a country. The only difference was that everything was run by the mining company.
They understood that men work better if the feel better, that is why the company founded residences and several clubs.

“But we children just enjoyed the silence and the magic that surrounded these ruins, they were perfect for stories that we made up ourselves and in which we were the actors.”

From the series “Silent Canary” by Filippo Maria Ciriani featured in our second issue “Lethargy”.

Dutch flower growers have been selling their flowers in England for over one hundred years.
Each year, 850 milion Euros worth of flowers are sold to the British.

The European borders are easily accessible for Dutch flowers thanks to European trade.
But now, how will Brexit affect this? Will the flowers soon wither at the borders?
What does the future have in store for the people involved?
The fragile flowers are a metaphor for the uncertain Brexit times.

Chamois, with its 90 inhabitants, is the highest municipality in Italy where cars are not allowed. The only way to get up here, 1800 meters above sea level in the Italian Alps, is by foot or by a cable car. Incredibly, Chamois counts six hamlets, a bunch of little houses spread all over the mountain.

One of Nola Minolfi‘s photos from her series “The man who never saw the sea”.
This and more in the third issue “Content Union”, available on our website baobabmagazine.eu
