Planning a France road trip with LeShuttle? These simple booking hacks can genuinely save you a surprising amount of money 🚆🇫🇷

💰 Travelling midweek, booking early and avoiding peak daytime crossings are usually the easiest ways to find the cheapest LeShuttle fares, especially during school holidays and summer.

🛒 It’s also worth checking your Tesco Clubcard account before booking because vouchers can sometimes be exchanged for LeShuttle rewards and discounts.

✈️ If you collect Avios points, don’t forget to check those too because selected LeShuttle bookings can sometimes be paid for partially with points.

🚗 Once we added up airport parking, baggage fees, transfers and car hire costs, LeShuttle actually worked out much cheaper than flying for our France trip.

👶 It was also so much easier travelling with a newborn and a dog because we stayed in our own car the whole journey and avoided stressful airport queues completely.

📲 Save this for your next French road trip and follow me for more budget Europe travel tips, cheap transport hacks and family-friendly travel ideas.

Thinking about a France road trip from London? Before you book flights, look into LeShuttle instead because it genuinely made travelling to Northern France easier, cheaper and far less stressful for us.🚆

🇫🇷 We travelled from London to the Opal Coast in around 5 hours door-to-door, stayed in our own car the whole time, and the Channel crossing itself only took 35 minutes.

👶 Travelling with a newborn and a dog, avoiding airport security queues, baggage restrictions and expensive car hire felt like a huge win. The terminal even had excellent baby changing facilities, air conditioning and dog walking areas before boarding.

💰 For families or groups, splitting fuel and tunnel costs can work out massively cheaper than flights too, especially once you factor in airport transfers, luggage fees and rental cars.

🌍 It’s also a more environmentally friendly option than short-haul flying, which made us feel even better about choosing it for a slow travel style France trip.

🚗 Once you arrive, road tripping around Normandy, Brittany, the Loire Valley or the Opal Coast becomes super easy and surprisingly affordable with your own car already packed and ready to go.

If you’re planning a trip to Rome and wondering how to get around cheaply, the Rome Metro is honestly one of the best budget travel hacks in Italy 🇮🇹

🚇 For just 1.50€, you can travel across the city using the metro, buses and trams for 100 minutes, making it far cheaper than relying on taxis.

💳 I also love that Rome’s Tap & Go contactless system automatically calculates the best fare for you, so there’s no stress about buying the “right” ticket. Just tap your bank card or phone at the gates and go. Perfect for first-time visitors exploring Rome on a budget.

🏛️ The metro lines connect many of Rome’s biggest attractions too, including the Colosseum, Vatican City and Roma Termini station, so it’s an easy and affordable way to sightsee without wasting money or time stuck in traffic.

📱My tip? Use Google Maps alongside the official ATAC Roma map to plan routes before you travel. It makes navigating Rome’s public transport system so much easier, especially during busy tourist seasons.

Just landed in Oslo? 🇳🇴 Don’t blow your budget before you’ve even left the airport…

✈️ The fastest way into the city might not be the smartest. The Airport Express Train is super sleek, but unless you’re seriously short on time, it’s hard to justify the extra cost for only a few minutes saved.

🚌 There’s also the Flybussen airport bus, which can work well if you’re staying outside the centre, but it’s often slower once traffic kicks in.

🚆 For the best value, hop on a VY train instead. They’re reliable, comfortable, around half the price of the express train, and take just 23 minutes to reach Oslo Central Station.

⏰ Look out for the RE20, RE11 or RE12 services. One usually departs every 20 to 30 minutes straight from the airport station.

💰 Tickets cost from 129 NOK, roughly £9, and are easy to buy in English from the ticket machines, desks, or via the VY app.

💡 Norway is expensive enough already, so this is one of the easiest travel hacks to keep your Oslo trip budget-friendly from the moment you land.

f you’re planning to walk the Camino de Santiago, don’t make the mistake of overpacking. Here’s my daily essentials 🥾

💧 Reusable filtered Water-to-Go bottle for Spain’s public fountains 👉 https://watertogo.eu/refer/727/

🩹Compeed blister plasters, SPF 50 suncream, hand sanitiser, snacks, a portable charger and lightweight waterproofs.

📖 I also kept my pilgrim passport easily accessible for collecting Camino stamps.

☀️ One thing I didn’t expect? Just how exposed parts of the Camino can be. A decent cap and plenty of water were absolute lifesavers during the hotter afternoon stretches.

📍 If you’re researching Camino packing lists, Camino luggage transfer services, or wondering what to carry on the Camino de Santiago each day, hopefully this gives you a realistic idea from someone who’s actually done it.

Landing at Milan Malpensa and wondering how to get into the city without spending a fortune on taxis?

🚆This is the easiest and cheapest way to reach central Milan from the airport.

🇮🇹 I flew Ryanair from London Stansted into Malpensa Airport and used the Malpensa Express train to get into the city. Trains run roughly every 20 to 30 minutes and connect directly to both Milano Centrale and Milano Cadorna, so it’s super easy to choose whichever station is closest to your accommodation.

🎟️ After baggage reclaim, just follow the signs to the train station inside the airport. Tickets cost a flat 13€ each way and can be bought from the self-service machines or ticket office. The machines have English instructions and take card payments too. There’s usually staff around to help if needed.

🚉 The journey takes around 34 minutes and trains are direct. Don’t forget to validate your ticket before boarding. Once you arrive at Centrale or Cadorna, both stations connect straight onto Milan’s metro system, where you can tap in easily with contactless payment.

💸 My total journey to the Navigli district took around an hour and cost under 16€, including the metro. A lot cheaper than airport transfers and honestly far easier than dealing with Milan traffic.

Milan is one of the easiest cities in Italy to explore on public transport and using the metro can save you a huge amount compared to taxis 🚇

💳 With tickets starting from just 2.20€, you can travel across the city, including the Duomo, Navigli, Centrale Station and even straight to Linate Airport on the new M4 line.

📲 One of the best Milan travel hacks is using contactless payment directly at the metro gates. Just tap your bank card or phone and the ATM Milano system automatically calculates the cheapest fare for your journeys. No paper tickets, no stress and no confusing machines after a flight.

🇮🇹 The Milan metro has 5 colour-coded lines and is genuinely simple to navigate, especially if you use Google Maps or the official ATM Milano app. You can also buy tickets at station machines, tabacchi shops and newsstands across the city.

💸 If you’re spending more than one day in Milan, the travel passes are worth looking at too. A 24-hour transport pass costs 7.60€, while a 3-day pass is 15.50€, covering metros, trams and buses across the city.

✈️ Whether you’re visiting Milan for a weekend break, an Italy itinerary or a cheap city escape, skipping taxis and using the metro is one of the easiest ways to keep costs down.

📌 Save this for your Milan trip and follow for more Italy budget travel tips and Europe transport hacks.
