🚚☀️As many enjoy a well-deserved summer break in France, we’re reminded of the vital infrastructure beneath those scenic landscapes, like the Arc de Dierrey Gas Pipeline.

LV Logistics is proud to have been able to support our client, a renowned pipe manufacturer, at the time in the logistics management of 59 kilometres of 48-inch, 18-metre-long pipes for this major energy project, spanning the regions of Picardie, Île-de-France, and Champagne-Ardenne.

Our team oversaw the entire logistics chain, including:

✔️HSQE compliance during all transport, loading, and unloading activities
✔️Cross-border transport from Germany to the Netherlands
✔️Establishment and operation of storage areas for coated pipes
✔️Handling and vacuum crane unloading at multiple stages
✔️Final delivery to four storage sites across France
✔️Full documentation and traceability of all 3,264 pipes, including production, coating, transport and storage data
✔️Use of the Dhatec 88 system to ensure pipe protection and reduce timber use

🚴🚚Yesterday, the peloton crossed the iconic finish line on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, bringing another memorable Tour de France to a close. Hereby, we would like to thank Team Picnic PostNL for an inspiring three weeks of racing.

🚚🐋Today we're looking back at one of the most extraordinary items we've transported and stored in our recent history.

A few years ago, this interactive street theatre spectacle called 'The Whale' made waves on beaches around the United Kingdom in a powerful statement about the environment and climate change.

The fibre glass sculpture arrived from Belgium to one of our LV warehouses in Middlesbrough, where it was stored safely and securely by our warehouse team before being transported to Redcar beach, nearby. LV's Forwarding Manager Nick West commented at the time: "It's by far the strangest thing I've moved in my career!"

🚚🚢When a major bridge construction project in the UK required the transport of oversized bridge components from Portugal to Birmingham, our teams delivered a solution built on careful planning, close coordination, and operational excellence.

The project involved bridge sections of up to 16 metres in length, 4.5 metres in width and weighing up to 57 tonnes. Transporting these units from the manufacturing facility in Portugal, via Rotterdam, to a constrained construction site in Birmingham required a fully integrated logistics approach.

Over a six-month period, we successfully coordinated 50–60 separate deliveries, including:
✅ Multimodal transport by sea and road
✅ Detailed route surveys and permitting in the UK
✅ Customs management in a post-Brexit environment
✅ Precise delivery scheduling for a restricted urban construction site
✅ Continuous communication between all project stakeholders
