Congratulations to Wang Xiantong, Service Engineer at our Shanghai office, on this special milestone.

Over the years, Wang has supported customers at numerous project sites, putting his technical knowledge and practical experience to work. His dedication, reliability and commitment to solving problems have earned him the trust of customers and colleagues alike.

25 years of Robert van Herwaarden. Now that’s something to celebrate!

Yesterday, we celebrated a special milestone: Robert’s 25th anniversary at AEGIR-Marine!
As our very first employee, Robert took a leap of faith when the company was little more than an idea, ambition and a whole lot of enthusiasm. He joined as a service engineer and has been helping shape AEGIR-Marine ever since.
From solving challenges in the dock to building our internal processes and contributing to quality and R&D, Robert has left his mark on so many parts of our company. Today, as Manager Strategic Projects, he continues to bring that same dedication and unmistakable eye for detail.
And then there’s his sense of dry humor. Sometimes you need a few seconds to realize he’s made a joke. His commitment to getting things right, however, has always been immediately clear!

Robert, thank you for your trust from the very beginning, your incredible contribution and, above all, for being such a valued colleague. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with you. Here’s to many more years together!

What happens when university students bring their questions into an industrial R&D environment? On 22 September, we found out.
We welcomed Bachelor’s Engineering students from the University of Twente to AEGIR-Marine as part of their course Materials for the Design of the Future: Heading Towards a Sustainable Future.

Our specialists gave a guest lecture on ageing-resistant polymers and shared how we weigh performance, durability, sustainability and material selection in marine applications. A tour of our workshop and R&D facilities then gave the students a closer look at how that knowledge is put into practice.

The questions kept coming, and so did the discussions. For us, that exchange is the value of working with universities: students gain insight into industry, while our team has the opportunity to share its expertise and hear fresh perspectives from future engineers.
Thank you to the students, the University of Twente and everyone at AEGIR-Marine who made the visit possible.

From 6 to 8 October, AEGIR-Marine will be at Boat Port Show 2026 in Asunción, Paraguay.

Bart van den Hamer and Pedro Esteves will represent AEGIR-Marine at the Dutch Pavilion as part of a maritime trade mission organized on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event brings together shipowners, shipyards and maritime businesses from across the region. Bart and Pedro look forward to meeting them and discussing how our stern seal and propulsion parts and services can support their vessels.

Before SMM opened its doors, the hard work had already begun.

Building the stand, preparing the massage truck and getting Mumsel (mumsel.com) ready for his big debut. And yes, getting a Mumsel ready for a trade fair requires more preparation than you might think.

It took planning, teamwork, creativity and quite a few last minute adjustments to bring everything together. Here is a look behind the scenes at the people and preparations that made our SMM week possible.
