What happens to a transportation request after it leaves a museum?

Last week, we welcomed Boudewien Goslings, Registrar of Incoming Loans at the , for a behind-the-scenes look at .

Using a fictional exhibition project, we followed the route a request takes within our organisation, from the very first email to the final assignment. Along the way, Boudewien met the different departments involved in the process and saw how many steps are taken before loan objects are actually on the move.

Why do we value exchanges like this? Because we work together every day, but rarely get to see what happens on the other side of the process.

In the winter, this XXL artwork made its way into through the balcony, carefully hoisted inside for the exhibition Vanuit Chaos, which explored the remarkable versatility of Willem van Konijnenburg.

Now we witnessed the same scene again, but with the trees full of leaves 🌿 and the journey reversed, from inside to outside. After all, what goes up must come down.

Museum Jan Cunen is currently closed while preparations are underway for the upcoming exhibition Zeep (Soap), an exhibition that smells as good as it sounds 🫧

For in Oss, we carefully lifted a drawing by Willem van Konijnenburg, more than six metres wide, into the building. The work arrived for the exhibition From Chaos and, due to its size, could only be brought inside via the balcony in a custom-made crate.

The operation did not go unnoticed. Passers-by stopped to watch, and the press was present as well. Understandably so, as it is not every day that a work of this scale enters a museum through the air. The exhibition Willem van Konijnenburg, From Chaos opens on February 8th.

Together we raise a glass to a new year. A year in which we will once again realise many great projects, with familiar faces and new collaborations.

What will be your logistical challenge in 2026? Will it be the transport of a fragile masterpiece for a museum exhibition, the international shipment of works for a gallery, or the careful relocation and storage of a private collection? Every assignment requires attention, expertise and care.

These are exactly the challenges we work on every day. In 2025, we handled a wide range of projects for leading clients, from exhibitions and on-site installations to art fairs and storage projects in our art depot. The trust we receive from museums, galleries, public institutions and private clients means a great deal to us.

Behind all these projects are people. Familiar faces, dedicated teams and short lines of communication. This is how we give 2026 a face: an organisation that works with care, experience and commitment, and that looks ahead together with its clients.

Anyone who has ever joined an art transport knows how impressive the work of our drivers truly is. A truck with trailer is already more than sixteen metres long. A full truck combination with an additional trailer reaches almost eighteen and a half metres. These are enormous vehicles to guide safely through traffic, especially with fragile artworks on board.

Today we want to give a shout-out not only to our own team, but to all drivers in our field. You carry a great responsibility and you do so with professionalism and care. On Truck Driver Appreciation Day it is the perfect moment to acknowledge that.

Last week, opened Dirk Filarski, Over the Top. Bergen, with its long tradition of art and landscape coming together, is a fitting place for this exhibition. Filarski’s work is closely connected to the character of this artistic village.

The show brings together paintings from museums and private lenders across the Netherlands. Our team handled the planning, packing and transport with care, working with thirteen lenders nationwide. A pleasure to contribute to this exhibition.
