Three years and one month after signing the contract for four new vessels, the last of our N-class vessels, the Star Naga, left the yard at Guangzhou on Thursday.
Captain Veloso and crew are now on their way to pick up their first cargo for G2 Ocean in China. From there, they will sail to South America, reaching Argentina by the end of August.
That means the N-class project is finalised on our part, but it continues for Gearbulk, which will deliver six such vessels to G2 Ocean - further strengthening their offering to customers.
The list of people involved in building the four N-class vessels is long, and in many ways the project has been something the whole organisation has been part of. The core crew, led by John Gabriel Östling and Torleif Frimannslund, has spent most of the past years focused on this one project. Now, our yard office is closing down, and the site manager and secretary are spending the last few days cleaning out the office space.
One chapter closing - but new awaits.
Safe sailing, Star Naga!
