Well, today we head home, docking at Bergen later this afternoon. But yesterday evening we did our last excursion, a trip down the Atlantic Road to a marble mine, which was better than it sounds, trust me. Floating through the mine on crystal clear waters. The Atlantic Road connects a number of Islands and was used in scenes in the last James Bond movie, No Time to Die. The marble is used to add the gloss to glossy paper, who knew!

Yesterday was a strange day. We had really rough seas, ports were missed and we were traveling ahead of schedule to beat the 8m plus waves forecast. But at about midnight the wind dies down and clouds parted to give us the most amazing light show, with reds as well as greens indicating a lot of energy in the atmosphere. We saw pulses of light dancing across the sky with the naked eye. Here are a couple of the very many photos I took. There are a few but there were so many different things to see, none of this has been photo edited! Enjoy!

Yesterday we saw a couple of sea eagles.

No more excursions now until the 23rd, so proper relaxing time, though the seas are getting a little choppy and it’s set to get worse, could be 5m waves tomorrow night, which is a little terrifying! Today we had a stop off in Hammerfest for a couple of hours, the self styled ‘Most northern city in the world’. Here are a few snaps.

Here’s a couple of minutes of the 25 minute husky drive. The weather was so good again, we have been so lucky so far. An unforgettable experience.
