⛽ Diesel Prices Are Rising – What Is Really Happening to Fuel Prices in Norway and Europe?

Fuel prices in Norway have risen sharply again after the temporary tax relief expired on 1 September. 🇳🇴
But the story is bigger than just a change in Norwegian fuel taxes.

📈 Several factors are putting pressure on fuel and transport costs at the same time:
• the end of the temporary Norwegian tax reduction
• a global shortage of diesel
• new customs and regulatory obligations, including **Digitoll**

And coming next:
• rising road tolls in 2027
• future changes linked to ETS2 in 2028

🚛🌍 For transport companies, higher fuel costs can quickly put pressure on profit margins and cash flow. Ultimately, higher transport costs affect the entire supply chain and eventually consumers.

Once again, our team took part in NorDan RUN, organised by the Polish branch of our long-standing partner, NORDAN. This year’s race took place near Poznań, Poland and, as every year, our team showed up strong! 💪

Together with our sister companies Enterprise Logistics and Viabaltic - agencja celna, we enjoyed a fantastic day full of energy, teamwork and a little healthy competition. 😎🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A special congratulations to 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮, who once again made it onto the podium! 🏆👏

🇳🇴 Big update for anyone importing or exporting through Norway!

From 3 September 2026, Norwegian Customs (Tolletaten) is changing how it sets the currency exchange rates used in TVINN, the national customs declaration system.

📅 Today: rates are fixed every Wednesday, valid for one week.

🔄 From September: rates will be fixed twice a month (every other Tuesday), each set valid for two calendar weeks.

What it means for your business:
🔹 Declarations can be filed earlier
🔹 Better support for declaring goods up to 30 days before import
🔹 A built-in 5% safety-net rule that suspends outdated rates during volatile currency swings

⚠️ September brings a short transition period, so it's worth double-checking which rate applies if your declarations fall between 7–30 September.

🇺🇸 US tariffs on 🇳🇴Norwegian goods rise to 12.5%

From 24 July 2026, goods from Norway are subject to a new additional US tariff of 12.5%, up from 10%, while many 🇪🇺EU products remain subject to a 10% tariff level.

This creates new challenges for Norwegian exporters and may affect their competitiveness on the US market.

🚐 Tachographs in vans from 1 July 2026 – Does every van really need one?

Since the new Mobility Package rules came into force on 1 July 2026, many questions have arisen about the new tachograph requirements for vans used in international transport.

❓ Does every van over 2.5 tonnes now need a tachograph?
❓ Does carrying your own goods qualify for an exemption?

The answer is - not always.

⚠️ Carrying your own goods does not automatically exempt a business from the tachograph rules. Whether an exemption applies depends on several legal conditions set out in Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006.

This is especially important for businesses transporting goods between Norway and the EU, where misunderstanding the rules could lead to costly penalties.

🚛 Digitoll is coming — is your business ready?

Norwegian customs procedures are changing. From 15 September 2026, digital information about the vehicle, transport and every consignment must be submitted to Norwegian Customs before the goods cross the border. 🇳🇴
