✨ Fjord Tour: Explore and Restore ✨

As tourism has grown rapidly around Tromsø, campfires left at popular viewpoints have become an increasing challenge, damaging fragile landscapes and sensitive ecosystems.

In collaboration with Rissa Citizen Science and the Norsk institutt for naturforskning (NINA), this special edition of our fjord tour combines wonderful sightseeing with a meaningful experience.

Together with a member of Rissa Citizen Science staff, you’ll map campfire sites and help restore one, as part of an ongoing research and nature restoration project.

No previous experience is needed. Your participation supports this collaboration between Best Arctic, Rissa Citizen Science, and the Norsk institutt for naturforskning (NINA).

On the Tromsø – Lofoten – Tromsø route, you travel between North and South: from Tromsø, via Sommarøy, Senja, Andøya, Vesterålen, all the way to Svolvær and Skårungen. In both directions, every day.
