Paintball is a fun activity that helps enhance self confidence, decision making skills and team building. While many play paintball to have fun, organizations and corporations are finding paintball to be a game which promotes corporate team building, increases camaraderie within the company and enhances employees’ leadership skills. The sport paintball is played over 40 countries by millions of men and women of all ages and lifestyles. Whether they are homemakers, professionals or retirees, all paintballers share a love for fun, adventure and a strong competitive spirit. Physical strength and size are not as important as intelligence and determination. What are the rules ? Paintball combines the fun of childhood games like 'tag' and 'hide' and 'seek', but is much more challenging. In most paintball games, players divide into two teams to play 'capture the flag'. The number of players on each teams varies from 2 to 6 a-side. The objective of the game is to go out and capture the other team's flag while protecting your own. While you are trying to capture a flag, you also try to 'eliminate' opposing players by tagging them with a gelatine-cased pellet expelled from a special CO2 powered paintball marker. On impact, the paintballs break open releasing brightly coloured vegetable dye. When you have been tagged you raise your marker above your head, call 'HIT' and walk from the field. Between games, players take a break to check equipment, plan the next game, recount the thrills and hilarious stories of the game. Win or lose, everyone has a good time and there's always the next game waiting for you. How fit do it need to be? You can play defensively and barely raise a sweat. However, most players who 'go for it' say it's one of the most vigorous workouts available, using muscle groups throughout the body in both aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Is it safe? At Paintball International we use full-face head protection and a number of other protection options that remove the possibility of injury. Some paintball tags can leave a small bruise that disappears in a day or so. You must be careful while running in the woods, but the only way a player can be injured by playing paintball is if he or she removes their goggles during play, or if a player uses a marker in an unsafe manner. Our experienced and professional referees enforce the rules of fair play and control the sport's safety. What do i need to wear?
