Not a day. A journey.🙏🇳🇵
I still remember the first photo I ever took seriously — not with a camera, but with a phone, hands unsteady, chasing light I didn't yet know how to name. I didn't know what aperture meant. I didn't know what a "frame" really was. I just knew that when I looked through that tiny screen, the mountains looked back differently. Something in me sat up and paid attention.
That phone became my first teacher. Every blurry sunrise, every overexposed festival photo, every shot I deleted in embarrassment — they were all tuition fees for a school with no walls, no syllabus, just Nepal itself as the classroom.♥️
Then came the camera. My uncle, Ramesh put it in my hands like he was handing me something he already knew I'd need — long before I understood what I was holding. That gift didn't just start a hobby. It opened a door I've been walking through for over a decade now, one district at a time, until I'd stood in all 75.
Along the way, the gear changed. Phone to compact to DSLR to the Sony a7IV, drones lifting my eye into the sky over Nepal. But that's not really the story. The story is who I met on the way there. 🙌
Mentors who taught me that a photograph is worth nothing if it doesn't carry respect for the person or place in front of the lens.
I didn't become a photographer by getting better equipment. I became one by getting closer — to the land, to the people, to the parts of Nepal that don't show up unless you stay a little longer, climb a little further, listen a little more.🕉️
So today, on World Photography Day, I'm not thinking about a day at all. I'm thinking about the boy with the phone camera who had no idea this would become a life. Every frame since has just been him, slowly learning to see. ♥️🤌

2,850m+, deep inside Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Fog rolling low over the ridgelines, wildflowers scattered across the grass, silence broken only by wind. This is one of Nepal's last untouched wild corners — no crowds, no noise, just endless green meadows fading into cloud. 🤌

One year ago, I made a switch that I didn't expect to change how I work as a storyteller.🕉️
I've spent over a decade carrying professional cameras across every district of Nepal — heavy gear, long hikes, careful setups for every shot. But somewhere in this last year, something shifted. The device I reach for the most, the one I trust the most for image quality and sensor performance, isn't always the camera in my bag anymore. It's the Xiaomi in my pocket. 🤌

The freedom to pull it out of my pocket in any light, any terrain, any unplanned moment, and walk away with crisp, powerful, professional-grade shots. Sunrise over a ridgeline I wasn't expecting to stop for. A herder's face lit only by the mountain sky. Fire spinning through the dark at a festival. Moments that don't wait for a tripod.
