In case you don’t know, we are upgrading. I’m honestly hopeless at trying to list this. I tried to put it on 2 truck pages on Friday. Failing badly and not sure it features anywhere. One page seems to approve everyone north of Bombay (that’s not the hills!)

Aoraki (former Ashburton South Canterbury and North Otago) Pony club representatives travelled to compete in the NZ eventing championship recently held in Hawkes Bay. Eventing is dressage, cross country and show jumping held over several days. Despite fuel challenges and wacky weather conditions, these riders overcame it all to represent the area well.

When choosing a freight company that will work well with you, do you choose a van operated or a truck operated service? That is a really interesting question. With Elgin Transport, cost is calculated by total volume (cube/weight up to 9m) and not by the number of parcels. Elgin Transport's difference is if your freight gets on the truck, it is delivered the same day. No delay's through a depot. With just one truck, bookings are made by phoning Nigiel on 0274856759. Nige will deliver as soon as possible. Any price quotes can be attended to by Susan on 021 2076660 after 3pm or email [email protected]

Currently we are monitoring our FAF on a weekly basis and following fuel price announcements from our suppliers. We are able to allow clients to make prior arrangements and pick up from our yard to avoid additional mileage costs at choking prices. Rates remain the same since 1st March 2025. It is just the FAF that continues to rise with no respite. Next rise is due 8th April. A few months back we decided to toe dip and put our business on the
market....we received lots of feedback from our loyal clients and suppliers as well as many interested parties who looked into the business
information. The good news is, Nigiel and I are planning and
committing to our next 5 years as Elgin Transport and how that will look.
A very high chance is we will update our truck during that period. In order to update, we will trade in our much loved 2017 Iveco Stralis 360 or put
it up for sale privately but truck will not be available until changeover to a new unit. The
last truck was sold via TradeMe and was sold to work in the horticulture
sector taking fruit and vegies from the growing block to the packhouse. If
you know anyone looking for a reliable, well maintained 12 metre automatic
class 4 truck who has been driven by Nigiel and only once by me around a
paddock. I personally think it could make an amazing motorhome or horse truck, or continue along in the transport sector somewhere. Happy to field interest by emailing [email protected]

Nice to get a letter of appreciation from a group that our family has been involved with for years. Susan started at a pony club camp in 1973 and rode as a member through until 1985 and coached until 2025. Piper rode from 2012 until 2021.
