I’m going to get in trouble for this, but that’s what happens when you give your daughter access to the page 😂

Today marks 20 years of Mid Canterbury Freight!! I couldn’t be prouder of my parents (Phill & Paula) and everything they have achieved.

What started with an old furniture truck has grown into the successful business it is today, with 10 trucks on the road and an amazing team working alongside them.

There have been plenty of long days and even longer nights, fixing trucks until all hours so they could be back on the road the next morning, dealing with grouchy kids in the office, and everything else that comes with running a business. But there have also been some pretty special opportunities along the way, from seeing some amazing places because of the trucks, to the many father-daughter days that I’ll always remember.

It really has been a family affair, with everyone playing their part. I’ve had my stints driving trucks, my brother has spent time fixing them, and before either of us were old enough to do much, we were the two kids arguing over whose turn it was to sweep the shed or do the cleaning (cleaning was the more popular job)😂.

Twenty years is a pretty incredible milestone, and it’s a credit to the hard work, determination and dedication you’ve both put into building Mid Canterbury Freight into the thriving business it is today. You’ve built something pretty special, and I couldn’t be prouder to call you my parents.

But it hasn’t just been Mum and Dad who have made this journey what it is. A huge thank you to all the incredible staff and their families, past and present, who have played such a big part in the business over the years. And to the customers, suppliers, businesses, friends and everyone else who has supported Mid Canterbury Freight, trusted us with their freight and been part of the journey — thank you. A business doesn’t get to 20 years without a lot of good people behind it, and there are far too many to name.

Here’s to 20 years of hard work, early mornings, late nights, headaches, good people, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of memories.

Happy 20th anniversary Mid Canterbury Freight, here’s to whatever the next 20 bring!

It is with great sadness we have learnt today of the passing of a Mid Canterbury Freight legend Warren (Flash) Patterson on Sunday 26th suddenly at home.
Flash WAS the steel run for 12 years at Mid Canterbury Freight and many years before that at McCormick Transport.
He always had the news around town (be it correct or not) and nothing got past Flash. His loads were a talking point but he always knew what was what and where it was going.
While his health called his time at Mid Canterbury Freight early we are very grateful to have been part of Flashes life and have kept in touch right up till Saturday night texting about the rugby and new stadium.
Our heart felt thoughts go out to Dianna and the family at this sad time. I ask everyone who knew Flash to raise a glass and share a story because everyone has one for this legend.

Sawdust for sale.
We have good amounts of sawdust available for calf sheds, cow composting, horse stables. We offer full unit loads, half unit loads direct to site. Ute trailer loads of 5 - 6m3 for horse stalls or you can bring your trailer and collect in Ashburton. Give Phill a call for pricing or to arrange a load.

Hi Everyone

A huge thanks to everyone for sharing my call for help yesterday. We have been able to sort help for our wee dilemma. Thanks to everyone who called offering to drive. Great to know there are still lots of good people out there willing to help.
