Today, the port whanau is delighted to deliver our FY26 results which showed significant volume growth with container throughput up 5.5%, car volumes up 17.7%, roll-on roll-off tonnage up 27.2% — helping drive a record underlying net profit after tax of $111.2 million, up 30% on FY25.

The result reflects the hard mahi of our people, made possible through their relentless focus on safety, disciplined cost management, consistent operational performance and stronger customer partnerships.

For the year, the Board has declared a $55 million dividend to Council.

We are excited to announce the expansion of our season footprint at Shed 10 alongside Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU). 🛳️

The arrangement will provide us with use of Shed 10 during the cruise season, creating a dedicated and more efficient terminal experience for cruise passengers, operators, Customs, MPI, and other border agencies.

Outside cruise requirements, the facility would continue to support TAU's event programme.

Our CEO Roger Gray and members of the port exec team recently visited our Mahanihani (South Head) site 🪴.

Since 2023 in partnership with Ngāti Te Ata Waiohua, Āwhitu Landcare, and Kauri Park we've been hard at work restoring 38 hectares that is transforming the headland back into native bush.

By the end of July, there will have been 267,900 natives planted 🌱, with cover anticipated to be completed by the end of this week.

An exciting community milestone. ✨

Yesterday, we came together to celebrate a major milestone for our new Bledisloe North Wharf 🚢 alongside Christopher Bishop

The first precast panel slab was laid, marking the beginning of the final phase of construction and the point at which the wharf begins to resemble a ship-ready facility.

We are excited to share that the wharf is on track to be completed in early 2027. A massive thank you to our construction partner HEB Construction, for all the hard mahi 🤝.

We look forward to sharing more updates as the project nears completion. More here: https://www.poal.co.nz/news-media/major-milestone-for-port-of-auckland-at-bledisloe-north-wharf

On Friday 24 July, we farewelled an industry stalwart, Moana Chief 🚢!

She was the final remaining NZ-flagged and domestically crewed container ship. Over her 12+ years servicing AKL she has moved a countless amount of cargo in and out of our port.

A huge thanks to the Moana Chief crew for all your hard mahi in delivering to Auckland and the motu.
