RUC Postponed

RE: NRC Petition to Postpone RUC Increase

After collecting almost 16,000 signatures, our petition to parliament to postpone the RUC increase for the trucking industry that kept New Zealand moving during the COVID lockdown has now been closed.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to sign the petition. We felt that at a time when the government were handing out money and support packages to almost every industry, hitting ours with an extra tax, despite keeping the country’s supply chain moving, was an insult to the good work the industry did.
We are happy to say that the leader of the ACT Party, David Seymour, has supported our petition and will be presenting it to parliament on the industry’s behalf.
We would like to thank Mr Seymour for his support on this important matter and applaud his recognition of the importance of our industry before, during and after the lockdown.
