The majority of Hosking Trailers are custom made to suit each specific boat hull and customer prefer-ences and setup - right here in New Zealand. Because of this we can make your trailer to suit you, your lifestyle and specific requirements and you can choose to add or exclude certain parts such as guide poles, mag wheels, number of rollers, walkboards, spare wheel and bracket, brakes and stainless steel parts. Our design ensures you get the best possible result when towing, launching and retrieving your boat. With quality and safety at the forefront of our business, we use New Zealand made parts and compo-nents wherever possible. Our trailers are designed to have a minimal number of adjustable compo-nents, as we believe this reduces unnecessary maintenance and helps ensure the fit of the trailer to the boat, particularly in years to come. We only use New Zealand or Australian made steel - of which we use continuous lengths for the mainframe and axles, no joins means increased strength and safety. Hosking Trailers repair, service and maintain ALL MAKES of boat trailers. We also do re-galvanising, axle conversions, add brakes and more. We stock all our parts, including Trojan - making repairing, servicing and maintaining your trailer easy. If you live outside of Auckland we can courier any parts you require and are happy to talk you through the fitting over the phone. It's time to get in touch with your local MPs.

The Fisheries Amendment Bill is being debated THIS WEEK, and if you’ve been following along, you’ll know these aren't minor tweaks.

It’s a major shift in how our fisheries are managed, who gets visibility, and who benefits from what is supposed to be a public resource - spoiler alert, it’s not everyday Kiwis.

One of the more concerning aspects is the move to allow the removal of size limits for species like snapper and trevally. That means fish could be taken before they’ve had a chance to reproduce, placing more pressure on fish stocks and ultimately leading to fewer fish in our waters.

Here’s what this Bill points to:

Less transparency
More discarded fish
Fewer fish for Kiwis

We’ve already seen what happens when a bit of light gets shone on the system. Onboard cameras have exposed underreporting of dolphins, seabirds, and excess catch, giving the public a rare and valuable look at what’s actually happening at sea.

Now the Government wants to make that footage harder to access.

At a time when we should be improving monitoring, strengthening data, and increasing accountability, this Bill heads in the opposite direction. It hands more control to the Minister and pulls the public further away from decisions about a shared resource.

Right now, the most important thing we can be doing as Kiwis is making it clear to our MPs that this isn’t acceptable.
