We’re excited to announce Derek Nind as South Port’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective 27 July, 2026.

Derek brings significant port-sector leadership experience, including roles with 360 Logistics Group Limited, CentrePort, and Lyttelton Port Company, as well as having served as a Director of South Port.

A proud Southlander, Derek says he is looking forward to leading the company and working alongside the South Port team in this new role.

Note there is a planned road closure of Shannon Street, the detour route will add approx. 5 minutes travel time to and from Port.

We’re installing a new watermain on Shannon Street, between Gore Street and Foreshore Road.

Work will begin on Monday, 4 May and is expected to take two days, weather permitting.

Traffic management and a detour will be in place during this time. Please see the map for further information.
