Meet Andrew Rich, our Freedom Companion Driver from New Plymouth, Taranaki.

Andy holds a full New Zealand driver’s licence with passenger endorsement, is first aid certified, fully police vetted, and has completed mobility and wheelchair training.

But that's not all that sets him, and all our other local drivers throughout New Zealand, apart from any other drivers. Andy loves his role in the community and really cares - as you can see from the happy smile from one of his clients pictured here.

New Zealand Grandparent’s Day is about celebrating the grandparents of New Zealand.

But it's not just a special day, it's a reminder of all the joy and value that grandparents bring to the lives of Kiwi kids all year round.

Grandparent’s Day was the brainchild of Jo Hayes, who in 2017 set up GrandFriends as a little charity that combats big issues like isolation and loneliness. At Freedom, we share GrandFriends’ belief that staying connected makes life richer. By helping grandparents get out and about, spend time with loved ones and stay involved in their communities, we help make those connections possible — on Grandparents’ Day and every day.
