During challenging times, strong leadership has never been more important. Whether it's sport, transport, or business ownership, the principles of building high-performing teams remain the same. ๐Ÿ’ก

For more than two decades, Darren Shand was the driving force behind the culture and high-performance environment that helped shape the All Blacks into the world's most successful international sporting team.

Today, Darren shares his concept of 'Winning Teams' with business and sporting leaders around the globe, equipping them with the tools to navigate team dynamics, become more effective leaders, and create environments where people can perform at their best.

We are looking forward to Darren sharing his insights with us at the Transporting New Zealand National Conference in just a few weeks' time.

Registrations for Conference close tomorrow, Friday 12 June. Don't miss out.

Liam Malone has been awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to athletics, named Disabled Sportsperson of the Year at the Halberg Awards, and won the Sovereign Insurance โ€˜Make a Differenceโ€™ start-up competition. ๐Ÿ…

Widely known as the world's number one blade runner, Liam made headlines when, after less than three years in the sport, he broke Paralympic records previously held by Oscar Pistorius. His journey from hitting rock bottom while at university to winning two gold medals and a silver at the 2016 Paralympic Games is nothing short of remarkable.

Liam's authentic and vulnerable presentation covers everything from overcoming adversity to mental health. He will be sharing his incredible story at the Transporting New Zealand National Conference in just a few weeks' time.

Registrations for Conference close this Friday, 12 June.

We've given transporting.nz a bit of a facelift!

As part of a wider tranche of work to upgrade and future-proof our systems, this new-and-improved website is easier to navigate for the general public, news media, sponsors and industry supporters - and it's a lot nicer to look at too.

Check it out and let us know what you think?

Our members can continue to log in through the Member Portal (members.transporting.nz).

Big thanks to the awesome team at Grow My Business.

Ferry Replacement Update

Join us for an in-person (and online) industry update on Monday 15 June where we'll dive into all the latest on the Interislander ferry replacement programme. This follows on from our sold-out ferry event in Blenheim back in February.

Get the latest updates, ask questions, and hear how the Cook Strait connection will operate until new ferries arrive in 2029, including during dry dock periods. Hear from KiwiRail, Ferry Holdings and CentrePort Wellington.

Whether you're a transport operator, freight customer, or an affected local, this event's for you!

The 12pm-1pm presentation will be followed by a light lunch and refreshments.

Register today to secure your place.

Congratulations, Warwick on this tremendous and well-deserved achievement. Warwick has been in the forestry and transport industry since he was 21, driving logging trucks and later improving safety through founding the Log Transport Safety Council and his position as Board chairman at the Road Transport Forum and most recently at Transporting New Zealand.

Truck crashes were once a risk to public safety, Warwick Wilshier said.
