Two years ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming our first passengers on board, and since then, we’ve had travelers from all over the world - Australia, Holland, USA, and of course, right here in New Zealand (just to mention a few)!

Kicked off what’s shaping up to be a busy season with a stunning day on the Lake Dunstan Trail, joined by great friends. The trail’s in amazing condition, and the lunch (plus a glass of Sauvignon Blanc) at Carrick Vineyard was the perfect highlight. Can’t wait to share these incredible views with my passengers on the Lake Dunstan Explorer this season!

Recently spotted some incredible rock climbers scaling the cliffs of Lake Dunstan! 🧗‍♂️

Can you find them in the picture? They were so at ease, they even gave me a wave! There’s always something exciting happening in Central Otago, and the scenery around this stunning lake is unbeatable 🌄

Winter Cycle Trail Tips From Us🧣

🚴‍♂️ Essential Tips for Winter Cycling on the Lake Dunstan Trail!

Ready to hit the trail this winter?

Remember these key tips: Wear gloves and a neck warmer - these are absolutely essential, dress in layers you can adjust as you embark on the hills, and choose windproof gear to combat the wind chill as you cycle.

Local Insight: winter is VERY still, with little to no wind. But a windproof layer will still help with the wind chill you create as you move.

Don’t forget to hydrate and bring fuelling snacks along with a flask for a hot beverage to keep you warm inside out.

Winter might be still, but your adventure awaits with every pedal!

We had this lovely Scottish couple onboard recently with their tandem bike …the first one we’ve carried.

Both doctors, they have been living on the West Coast for the past year and a half with Justin practising as a doctor supporting the local medical team on the coast.

They bought this bike all the way from Scotland and have biked all over NZ they head back to Scotland after their sabbatical in about a month!

We absolutely love meeting everyone who joins us on board and hearing their stories 🙌🏼

Can You Spot Them? 🏊‍♂️

We're Proud Supporters of the Southern Lakes Swimming Club Annual Swim! ☕🚤

It was a few weeks ago now, but we were thrilled to support the Southern Lakes Swimming Club during their annual swim to Coffee & Burger Afloat. The Lake Dunstan Explorer was there to ensure everyone's safety, carrying warm clothes and providing a cosy ride back for those who chose to relax after their swim with some warm drinks and food.

It's always an honour to support our local clubs and be a part of such energetic community events! Here's to many more swims and safe adventures on Lake Dunstan.

Thanks to all the swimmers for making it a day to remember!
