Our point of difference over other transportation providers is the physical accompaniment and assistance offered. For example, if required, we will attend doctor's appointments with our client and relay relevant information back to family members, assist with shopping or ensure children safely attend sports practices or music lessons. Special needs are catered for including assistance with a walke

r or wheelchair. We also have Mobility vehicles available for wheelchair users. We are ACC Registered Vendors, so ask for us if you have an injury and have ACC subsidised transportation needs. We accept Cerebral Palsy Get Out There (GOT) Vouchers. We also accept Otago Regional Council Total Mobility Vouchers.

We are often asked at Driving Miss Daisy, what is the difference between you and a standard taxi

The main differences is that we are all first-aid trained, are Dementia Friends and have disability awareness as well as full Police Vetting. We spend time with our customers, either in their homes or at their chosen location, offering quality companionship and assistance or simply taking notes in appointments for them. Many clients are simply lonely or lacking in confidence and appreciate travelling with someone who cares.

Our vehicles are designed to take wheelchairs, and guide dogs; we also carry aids to assist clients when getting in to our cars. The key point is you don’t have to have a disability to use us, just be someone who appreciates a quality service.

Keeping the wheels turning at Driving Miss Daisy 🚙 involves a lot of different people in our community 👨‍⚕️🚑🩺 🏃‍♀️👵 all working together to provide care, companionship and safe transport.

Every day our drivers work together with Medical Centre’s to coordinate appointments and pick ups for our elderly and most vulnerable, and for anybody who just appreciates a great service!

Our Daisys loved popping in to say a big thank you 💕 to the staff at the Meridian Medical Centre for all they do to keep our wheels turning.

Also thanks for Alto Café for baking up some amazing treats 🍰

We're proud to be representing 🚙 Driving Miss Daisy Dunedin North and Harbour 🚙 and the wonderful community we serve 🥰
Each year we come together to share ideas, learn from one another and explore new ways to make the Driving Miss Daisy experience even better for our clients, their families and our communities.
