Diesel Mechanic (Full time, Permanent) for Hobbs and Banks in Timaru, Canterbury.

Been a bit quiet for a while posting on here but it has been anything but quiet as far as workload goes. It has been a very busy few months with lots of dairy track maintenance and even a few new conversions being completed. In the month of July alone we carted over 20000tons of track lime from various quarries to farms around the countryside; and that included a week of rain which meant no track work was done for a number of days. The shingle division has also been very busy with lots of product being delivered by our trucks or picked up from the yard by clients own trucks. There have been plenty of other jobs on the go to keep the trucks and all the loaders & diggers busy. We even had a visit from Geraldine Preschool for the kids to check out some of the gear working.

A carpark area has been formed at the river end of Bennett Road helping to enhance this area, massive thanks.

Our youngest worker Tom with our oldest worker Rat. These guys spend a lot of time working together doing a great job cleaning dairy lanes. There is always plenty of banter & laughs with them!

We recently farewelled our office manager, Tracey who had been with us for 10years. Tracey has done a fantastic job keeping everything & everyone in order and will be missed by all. On Saturday we had a farewell for Tracey at the House of
Hop with an excellent meal and a drink or 2. Everyone had a great night and we wish Tracey all the best for the future.

We know it is winter but whos over the rain?! Its certainly wet enough around the countryside but we are keeping busy carting shingle and doing dairy lane maintenance when we are able to get on the farms. The wet conditions make some jobs a bit more challenging and its hard to keep the gear clean thats for sure.
