The last weekend then a early morning start for the airport. A great weekend thanks to Jim for taking us out on the fishing boat, Anglers Lodge for your hospitality, kev and Rebecca for putting us up and a lift to the airport and a great weekend before we headed off.

Cyclone Vaianu was heading toward Nz so we headed back to Taupo to a safe spot to park up for a few days in the morning...

Cyclone Vaianu was heading toward Nz so we headed back to Taupo to a safe spot to park up for a few days in the morning we did a little walk on kevs track, First time on the opposite side of Huka Falls, didn’t know there was redwoods around here, the sky was changing, wind was picking up, our phones went off civil defence emergency alert‼️, then police turned up asking every camper to evacuate this area as it was hit hard last time, headed to a safer place and the storm passed without a problem for us, now on our last week before heading to Oz then home.
Some times things don’t go the way you want problems with the bus at the start then the weather, ferries cancelled, fuel crisis, but we won’t give up and there will be a next time.

The rain stopped us in our tracks yesterday traveling back from Coromandel so we stopped in
Matamata, a town in the shadow of the Kaimai Range Mountains, and is a thriving farming area known for Thoroughbred horse breeding and training pursuits. Southwest of town, the Hobbiton Movie Set was created for Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” films. To the northeast, a trail leads to Wairere Falls, with views over the Waikato Plains. The Firth Tower Museum has heritage buildings, including a school and a jail, that chronicle the region’s settler history.

Last day for us at the balloons, and what a great morning start it was, after the rain in the night a little on the cloudy side but perfect weather for the balloons to fly. Not sure we’re we are floating off to next but can’t believe we Only have a month left before we fly to Oz then home.
