Riverlea Group Ltd was founded in 1992 by Basil Dunn. Today, with sons Kerry and Laurie holding management positions, Riverlea Group Ltd remains a privately owned family business based in Hamilton, New Zealand, with distribution throughout New Zealand, Australia and the wider Pacific region. As a manufacturer for over 22 years, Riverlea Group Ltd have invested heavily in the New Zealand community,
providing jobs locally and committing themselves to support local manufacturing. They promote good employer/staff relations and have built a workplace environment that is enjoyable and rewarding for everyone. Riverlea Group Ltd now consists of three divisions, Outdoor Storage, Wheelbarrows & Tools and Outdoor Lifestyle. In the Garden Shed division of the business, Riverlea Group have built a reputation for their high quality, innovative outdoor storage products backed up with excellence in customer service. Duratuf has become known as the benchmark in quality garden sheds. In April 2009, Riverlea Group Ltd acquired the wheelbarrow manufacturing division of Greens Industries. Greens wheelbarrows are the “original NZ wheelbarrow”, having been the most well known and respected wheelbarrows in the NZ market since 1974, when the products were first released. In the last 5 years, Riverlea Group has been instrumental in successfully re-establishing this iconic brand as the market leader for wheelbarrows in New Zealand. Having become leading suppliers in the outdoor storage and wheelbarrow market, Riverlea Group planned on further widening their offering and in June 2011 concluded negotiations to purchase The Hot Smoke Company, thereby entering the BBQ and outdoor lifestyle market. A wide range outdoor heating and cooking products is now supplied by Riverlea Group throughout Australasia and the Pacific. These include, barbeques, BBQ fuels, outdoor fires, braziers, chimeneas, firepits, wood smoking products, pizza ovens, masonry BBQs and much more. This range is continuing to develop in line with changing market trends and fashions. Riverlea Group Ltd are looking to further build all 3 product categories - Outdoor Storage, Wheelbarrows and Tools, Outdoor Lifestyle. This will be done by extending branding opportunities to peripheral products within these categories and through growing our Australian distribution network and customer base.
