At Hi Viz Traffic Management, one thing we know for certain is that we never know when we’re going to be needed.

That’s why our team is on call 24/7, ready to respond when the unexpected happens. From accidents and slips to fallen trees, emergency civil works and everything in between, we’re there to quickly put safe, effective traffic management in place and keep people moving.

Sometimes, there’s simply no choice but to close the road and divert traffic. When crews are working in challenging or dangerous conditions, their safety — and the safety of the public — has to come first. 🚧 NZ TTM Fact: Cone tapers aren't placed at random! Under NZ traffic management guidelines, the length of a taper is precisely calculated based on the road's speed limit to give drivers enough time to merge safely.

Following today’s large oil spill on SH51 and Omarunui Rd, our crews have been working to restore the road surface to a safe condition. We’re not finished yet, and further work is scheduled for the morning. In the meantime, please slow down, follow all speed limits, and drive carefully—road conditions may change and extra attention will help keep everyone safe.

We’ll be here assisting with the general maintenance of the Tasmanian Blue Gum! 🚧 if you see the crew give us a cheeky wave 👋

On Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 July this week, arborists will undertake conservation pruning of the notable Tasmanian Blue Gum outside St Columba’s Church.

The tree is approximately 160 years old and is one of New Zealand’s largest recorded Tasmanian Blue Gums. It remains in good health for its age, but like all mature trees, it requires ongoing management to support its long-term future.

The targeted pruning will reduce stress on selected limbs, improve resilience to future storm events, and help preserve this important landmark for generations to come.

This is conservation-focused work designed to retain the tree’s overall character and value, not a general canopy reduction.

Temporary traffic management will be in place around the work site from 6:30am to 4:30pm on both days and will include: some parking bays on Te Mata Road closed off to vehicles, managed pedestrian access around the work area, and short-term traffic management measures as required to ensure public safety.

Please follow all signage and directions on site.
