Seasonal Quality Assurer – Avocado Packhouse 🥑
Join the Just Avocados team this season!

We're looking for a Seasonal Quality Assurer to join our packhouse team in Katikati on a fixed-term basis for the upcoming avocado season.
This is a hands-on role that plays an important part in ensuring our avocados meet the highest quality and food safety standards before they reach our customers.

Key responsibilities include:
* Monitoring fruit quality throughout the packing process
* Completing quality checks and inspections
* Recording and maintaining accurate quality documentation
* Assisting with food safety and quality systems
* Investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions
* Collecting and monitoring retention samples
* Supporting the packhouse team to maintain quality standards
* Working closely with production to ensure quality requirements are met

We're looking for someone who
* Has experience with the avocado industry
* Has excellent attention to detail
* Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
* Has good communication and problem-solving skills
* Can work well independently and as part of a team
* Has previous quality control or packhouse experience

Are you an all-rounder?

This is a busy, fast-paced dual role where no two days are the same. We have varied responsibilities across both the yard and dispatch areas.
These positions are responsible for ensuring the accurate movement, recording, and dispatch of product from the packhouse to customers and transport providers.
The role combines forklift operation, yard coordination, inventory management, and dispatch documentation to ensure stock is handled safely, efficiently, and with full traceability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of forklift and yard equipment at all times
- Coordinating dispatch and yard flow of product and vehicles
- Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
- Completing dispatch documentation and stock records accurately
- Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and site standards
- Supporting inventory control and traceability systems
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised yard environment

We are saddened to acknowledge the passing of Liz Ward, a well-known and much-loved member of the Katikati community.

Liz contributed so much to our town through her successful business and her involvement in local clubs including netball, rugby and of course her involvement with the A&P Society. Her dedication and community spirit have left a lasting impact.

We have had the privilege of working with Liz’s family over many years and continue to do so today, which makes this loss felt even more deeply. Our thoughts are with Liz’s family and friends at this time.
