🏆 Leading Breeder of the Tour

One of the final awards of the New Zealand Warmblood Classification Tour is one of the most prestigious — the Leading Breeder Award.

This award recognises the breeder whose three highest-scoring horses across the entire tour achieve the greatest combined score. With such a huge number of horses inspected during this year’s tour, having three horses rank among the very top is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the strength and consistency of a breeding programme.

This year’s Leading Breeder of the Tour is
✨ Gloriann Mullen – Wembleybrook Sport Horses ✨

Gloriann secured the title with three exceptional foals:
• Scarlet Witch WSH — by Supra Marvel WSH — 84.5%
• Carnyx Air WSH — by Cornet’s Air — 82.25%
• Supraman WSH — by Supra Marvel WSH — 80.25%
Total: 247 points

This year’s competition was extremely close, highlighting the strength of breeding programmes across the country:
• Catherine Smith — 246.75
• Paula Brocklehurst & Gregory Kingsley-Wilkins — 245.25
• Kieryn Walton from Walton Dressage Stables and also the team at VF Sporthorses
— 244.75
• Sandy Fryatt & Ross Beaven — 244

A special mention must also go to Murray Riches, a first-timer presenting foals on tour, who finished on an impressive 242.5 — an outstanding result and a very exciting debut!

When the margins are this tight, every decimal point counts — and it shows just how competitive and progressive sport horse breeding in New Zealand has become.

Our second award from the latest Nz Warmblood Association Inc tour goes to our delightful Danzar WSH

Given to the dam of the Champion Foal of tour in recognition of the very important roll Mares play in the breeding and producing of quality stock. It is a privilege to have mares like Effie in our paddocks and we are greatful to have her rewarded for her contribution to the studbook going forward ❤️

And our final foal for the season who took her sweet sweet time to arrive.. the cracking Filly Scarlet Witch WSH

Born on the 7th of Feb she was only a week old for her assessment and luckily filled out perfectly to impress gaining incredible scores across the board for our highest achieving progeny to date with an 84.5 🤯🦄 super special with this result being from homebred Stallion Marven and out of the lovely Effie - dam to other resident stallion Waltzmeister and young c**t Tattooed Dancer.

We can't wait to get some further pictures of this sweet girl in the coming weeks that show the delight she is ❤️

And just when you thought the day couldn’t possibly get any better… they saved the best until last.

As the sun dipped low and the light turned golden, Wembleybrook Sport Horses brought out the breathtaking Scarlett Witch WSH — and she absolutely stole the show.

Scarlet Witch is by their resident stallion Supra Marvel WSH, who himself earned an Excellence Award at his stallion licensing last year. Her dam is the unforgettable Danzar WSH, the mare who topped the stud book section last year. Danzar is by Dancier out of Aloha, the imported Holsteiner mare by Aljano.

So yes - this filly carries some seriously elite blood. But pedigree only gets you so far.

When Scarlett Witch WSH stepped out, she backed it up in every possible way.

She scored an extraordinary 84.5% for conformation and 84.5% for movement, finishing on a massive 84.5% overall - rocketing straight into the lead of Register 1 and the Eventing Section.

Modern. Sportive. Powerful. Elegant.

A filly with presence, strength, and elasticity. The kind that makes you stop mid-sentence and just watch.

To finish the day - and the venue - with a filly of this calibre as the sun set over the property felt pretty special.

Wembleybrook once again proving that thoughtful, long-term breeding programs consistently produce horses at the very top of the board.

#3 of the bunch is the dark and handsome Carnyx Air WSH and yet another Excellence 🤯.. Sadly for us a filly born with a w***y.. but for the Jumper/ Eventing community a top contender to stash in your paddock for a couple years time.. this guy has all the qualities and the pedigree to make it where ever his rider takes him. Hopefully we can remake this cross with a filly and then I won't have to say goodbye!

And then came a real headline act for Wembleybrook Sport Horses
🔥 Carnyx Air WSH - 82.25% in the showjumping section.

This powerful c**t is absolutely right near the top of the showjumping leaderboard with a massive 82.25%.

Carnyx Air WSH is by Cornet's Air and out of the New Zealand Warmblood stud book mare Roma, who is by Royal Diamond out of Emiral (by Flyinge Amiral)

Roma is also the full sister to the four-star eventer Rubinstar HH, so the depth of performance blood in this pedigree is seriously exciting.

And he looked every bit as good as the paper suggests. A modern, athletic c**t with presence and scope, he impressed with his type and movement and clearly stamped himself as one of the stronger jumping-bred foals on tour.

The stud had quietly hoped this cross might produce a filly — to retain as an outside pure-blood addition to their own breeding program — but this one arrived with a w***y!

So, while not the filly they were dreaming of, he is a super high-scoring c**t and will now be offered for purcahse. And someone is going to get a seriously exciting young prospect.

Another outstanding result for the Mullen family - thoughtful breeding, strong maternal lines, and yet again, a foal right up near the top of the board.

Foal #2 of 4 .. the mighty Surpaman WSH

1st foal for resident stallion Supra Marvel WSH and following in his father's footsteps with an Excellence Award! With a pedigree full of well known proformamce lines in NZ ( Gymbello/ Voltaire 11/ Sorcery) he will be a fantastic addition to someone's competition team and is available on weaning.

As the light began to fade on Saturday the 15th, our final stop was the home of Gloria and Paul Mullen and their Wembleybrook Sport Horses.

The Mullen family (including daughter Courtney Sherriff) are long-time Connemara and Warmblood breeders, widely respected for their thoughtful, strategic breeding program. Year after year they present beautifully prepared mares, foals and stallions — and consistently come away with top awards. It’s never accidental. It’s always intentional.

🏆 Supraman WSH – Excellence award.

First out for assessment was the chestnut c**t Supraman WSH.

He is by last year’s Stallion Licensing Excellence Award winner, Supra Marvel WSH, and out of the imported Australian mare Grandview Bee’s Knees (by Belaton), an ACE registered mare in the New Zealand Warmblood Studbook.

Supraman WSH stepped forward with confidence and quality, earning a place straight into the Excellence pool with 80.25%.

A strong, modern type with good presence and athleticism — exactly what you’d expect from this pedigree combination.

The 1st of our 4 Warmbloods bred this season and put forward for Nz Warmblood Association Inc Classification.. starting with the lovely Tina, aptly named 'Traumgötten WSH' (Dream Goddess) doing her heritage proud - 3rd Generation Wembleybrook combining our most influential lines from all sides 😍

Next up for the Mullen family of Wembleybrook Sport Horses was something a little different - and very eye-catching.
🌟 Troumgöttin WSH – 80% Excellence

This striking palomino filly steps into the Derivative Register 2.

She is by their imported buckskin tobiano stallion Traumprinz GF, brought in from Germany by the Mullen family, and out of Wembleybrook Toi Toi, a Connemara–Thoroughbred cross mare bred by the stud themselves.

This makes Traumgöttin WSH a Connemara–Warmblood cross — a purposeful blend of athleticism, toughness and sport horse quality.

And she certainly stood out with presence and expression, she impressed enough to score 80%, earning an Excellence award.

It’s always exciting to see breeders thoughtfully blending bloodlines to create versatile sport prospects — and this filly is a fabulous example of that vision in action.
